A good college

Over all the college is a complete package for an average student offering standard education and decent placement facilities which helps the student make a career for themselves.

I took West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination and scored a rank of 12212. After securing this rank I was searching for a good college which would provide me with good chances of placements. Going by the statistics I decided to go with this college.

The course curriculum was in the same line with West Bengal University of Technology. It is a 4 year course with 2 semesters each counting to a total of 8 semesters. 1st year generally brushed with the basic stuff that you learnt in your plus 2. 2nd year will dig dip into your core subjects along with few non technical subjects. 3rd year and 4th year will have your expertise in your core subjects with lab experiments.

Well since it is not in a so urban location internship has to be done from nearest city i.e. Kolkata. Since the college is under Techno India Group, companies like TCS,CTS,BSNL, L&T,Indian Railways etc offer internsip experience. General stripend offer varies depend on your semester performances ranging from 8k to 12k.

Well since it is under Techno India many companies visit the campus like TCS, CTS, Mindtree, Accenture, Erricson, BSNL, L&T etc . The college holds a record of 80% placement record for the last 5 years. Packages offered range from 3 lakhs to 6 lakhs across departments. Apart from this pooled campuses are held frequently by Techno India.

The college is filled with fun and activities. Workshops,Seminars,Excursions and Technical as well as Cultural festivals are celebrated. Workshops and seminars include Robotics,Ethical Hacking,Digital Electronics Content Designing. Seminars on Drives,Power Electronics haveing visiting faculty from NIT Durgapur.

The fee structure is in line with a Private Institution. Comparing with the other colleges the fee is on the higher side. However considering the fact that is self aid the fee is definitely feasible.

Scholarship as such is not provided since it is self aided however the college has tie ups with various banks and it provides loan facilities. Loan can be facilitated from SBI,Axis Bank etc.

While on campus your life will be full of activities. There are plenty of activities running through out the year. Workshops on robotics,ethical hacking etc. If you are sports enthusiast there is college football team,cricket team and there inter college tournaments going on. Apart from this there are soft skills development going on which will prepare you industry ready.

Hostel facilities are there too. There is a complete 4 floor building for the 1st year student itself in case they are out station candidates and a separate building for the rest of the students. Each room is a twin sharing with 24 hour facilities of WIFI. The hostel bathrooms are cleaned on a daily basis. The hostel fee is nominal. Apart from hostel there are plenty of rental rooms available in the vicinity with rental as low as 2k per month.

There is a strong alumni network existing in the college. There is get together arranged for the alumni every year. Alumni students also help in organizing placement opportunities which motivate the students to have a strong bond.

Exams were biyearly i.e. there were two semesters per year. Apart from this there were labs every week. There was a balance and the labs were not too frequent. There were unit test which were bisemester and which has weightage in the final exam.

Few of the faculty members were haveing Ph.D's and were really experienced in their subjects. I will start with each department.Mechanical department has expert faculty members with the HOD haveing profound experience of more than 20 years. Electrical department also has expert faculty members with the HOD haveing more than 20 years of teaching experience and 10 years of Industry experience. CS&IT is a single department with faculties very helpful. Many of them have a Master Degree and they are really helpful. Electronics department has the best laboratory and the faculties will help you with your subjects in all way from getting your projects done to assignments.
