Remarks

At the end I would conclude by saying tha khalsa college just rocks. The students and the staff are just crazy and fun filled people enjoying every part of life. What need to be taken of is the little discrimination among sikh students and others.

Entrance Preview

I got admission in one of the most prestigious college of delhi university through merit bases and which still makes me feel proud of it. Getting admission in Khalsa college has always been a tough task and my dream came true. It is a place where you get exposure through multiple opportunities and it's at the heart of the university. The crowd of khalsa college has always mesmerised me since my school days as my school bus passed through Khalsa.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

BS.c physical science provided me a wide subjects to learn at the same time. I got a chance to learn computers chemistry physics mathematics and above all biology one of my favourite.

Internships Opportunities

I nevergot a chance to work for the delhi university I intership programmes but many of my friends from the commerce stream did work with quite a reputed firm including HCL and wipro. But as to students the sipend provided was as low as 2000 a month. But some talented and really deserving students got as high as 15000 a month which not a small amount for a learning or a university students. All the basic needs can be fulfilled with that amount easily and it was a 6 months ling internship programme.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements were only confined to commerce students and that too very intelligent students. The average ones were always left out of the field and the science one like me were never in queue.

Fee Structure And Facilities

In khalsa college the fees has always been very high in comparison to other university colleges and it kept on increasing each passing year which made many students in distress.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not aware of any of the scholarships or loans provided by the college at that time. But with the changing needs and time the college needs to work upon the same very soon to at least fulfil the aspirations of those vulnerable sections of the society who can't afford good quality education but those are equally qualified and well deserving.

Campus Life

4.5

In khalsa college as it was a sikh based organisation. Girl child was always due respect. The gender has always been respected. Internal politics I would say that it was quite a common affair. Sikh students and the gurdwara organisations children were given preference over others which I disliked to the most and it is quite unfair in a civilised society to give such privileges. Labs especially the science laboratory had all the new equipment to fulfil the needs of the students. But at the end I would say that there are some members in the staff who are harnessing the innocent girls which needs to be taken immediate action.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Khalsa college had the hostel facility only in the last few years but only for the girls students boys had to manage with pg or some flats. As it was a newly constructed building it was quite a neat and clean area. Rooms includes both air conditioned and bon conditioning students had the opportunity to join among any of them. It was on a twin sharing basis.

Alumni/Alumna

There is hardly any college alumni organisations it's only if some students take initiative of one than one can think of some alumni meet or parties and meeting old friends and your place where you had spend some beautiful 3 years of your life. I attended a alumni meet last year but that was organised by some students itself.

Exam Structure

As if you are in science courses in than you have to bear with exams anyhow. As now with the semester system running through in delhi university there are 2 yearly examination along with the endless internal exams and the very scary laboratory examination. I still remember those days when we used to have viva and a written test along with it performing the experiment in front of the examiner the heart beat rate at that time.

Faculty

5

Faculty has always been among the top of the university. Teachers and student understanding was just superb .There was not even a single time that I was disappointed with any of the staff. But I still remember the library staff and the beautiful memories with those sweet teachers. It still gives a smile on my face remembering those days.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is too good. As my course is life sciences so instead of learning about only one core subject like in botany hons and zoology hons course, we get chance to learn about zoology, botany and chemistry simultaneously. That Also unlock a large no. of opportunities for my future. Acc to me the ratio of practical lab and theory classes should be increased like we only get 1 lab for one core subjects in a week so I think this no. Should be increased so that we can get more practical knowledge. The difficulty level of exams are too much High like it seems we're hons course students that should be decreased.

Indira Gandhi National Open University - [IGNOU], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Mathematics)

Placement Experience:

Placements in IGNOU are quite limited compared to regular universities. Since IGNOU is an open and distance learning university, it does not have a strong campus placement system like DU or private colleges. There is a Campus Placement Cell (CPC) that conducts job fairs and recruitment drives at some regional centers, but these are not very frequent and mostly depend on the location. Usually, students who are in their final year or have completed the course can apply, but there is no fixed semester rule since the system is flexible. The companies that visit are not very large in number and vary every year. Some private firms, NGOs, BPOs, insurance companies, and small IT firms have participated in the past. The roles are generally entry-level such as sales, customer support, data entry, insurance advisor, or junior IT support. There are very limited opportunities for core mathematics or research roles through placements. As far as packages are concerned, the average package is usually around ?2.5 LPA to ?4 LPA, but since IGNOU is an open university, it cannot be expected to have the same placement levels as regular colleges with full-time classes. Also, the percentage of students placed is very small because most IGNOU students are either working professionals, homemakers, or people preparing for competitive exams, so placements are not the main focus. Many students use the degree as a qualification while pursuing their own career path outside. I am currently in my 2nd year, so I do not have personal placement experience yet. The data I have mentioned here is based on internet sources and feedback from other IGNOU students. From what I have learned, placements exist but are very limited, and one should not rely only on them for career building.

Campus placements are for commerce background mostly, usually in 3rd year you might see some placements. I don't know exactly about thr company who visited because I wasn't enrolled in that particular course. Campus placements percentage is very low to be honest . 10-20% mostly. I'll pursue masters.
