Remarks

This place is undoubtedly one of the best places for overall education of an human being, but if your ward is over pampered and undisciplined i would recommend staying away from this college. This place can give you a million memories except in cases where the monks act rude out of nowhere which may irritate and hurt sentiments.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course here is divided into six semesters. Syllabus is based upon Calcutta University along with add ons. There is enough practical work done here thouroughout the year, which carry enough weightage in exams. It obviously increase our depth of understanding in a subject.

Placement Experience

2.5

Since this is a bsc college it does not provide placements. But professors pay enough attention for preparing students for gate and other exams of equal level. Most students here opt for higher studies.

College Events

5

There are departmental fest held for each department separately around the year, other than which small subject based seminars are almost regular. The annual inter-hostel drama competition is the biggest cultural event here. Speaking of sports, cricket, football and annual spots day are the highlight alongside table tennis, carrom and badminton.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees here is extremely low since this is a government aided college. Fees are collected monthly thourough cash card or cheques. One can pay multiple months together if one wants to. The admission fees here are around 25000 and annual readmission fees are around 10000. Yes the college provides transparency in the fee breakdown.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't opted for scholarship, bt i know many who have. Alongside if you are economically backward the college is always there to help u.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is excellent here, gender ratio is 1:0 ( boys: girls), obviously its a boys college, bt during our events boys and girls are equally welcome. Since this college is Residential sports is practiced heavily, and the best of all is that every student recognises every other student, not only from his own batch bt of all other batches. Small other extracurricular activities are held all year round out of which the one worth mentioning is the annual inter-hostel drama competition. Labs here are superb since there are even students pursuing phd here.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Being a Residential College, hostel is a must here. The rooms are shared between 3-4,bt there is adequate space. There are separate study halls, dinning rooms here. The toilets are clean. But if you are coming here remember about the prayers twice daily which is compulsory.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni here is outstanding, they are spread across the globe and any help you need they are ready to give. Seniors are extremely helpfull as well, we never came to know what does ragging even mean ?

Admission

To get into this college one has to sit for an entrance exam, which is held around middle weeks of june. Admission is done based on the ranks obtained from this entrance test. I loved studying and experimenting around computers hence opted for this course. The discipline the faculties and the environment everything amazed me.

Faculty

5

The faculty here is tooooooo good. They are some of the best of their kind in kolkata. The nuber of lectures depend upon the weight of the subjects averaging around 50 per subject. The faculty ranges from young to almost retiring professors. That's all.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
