I had a rank of about 9200 in WBJEE in 2007 with which I got into this college however now you can get into this college with much lower rank i opted for this college because I knew seniors who had studied in this college and had secured good jobs.

I was majoring in computer science and engineering please refer to the college/university website for latest course curriculum.

Internship was not at all mandatory and was not sought for in our syllabus the only requirement was after finished 3rd year and before the commencement of 4th year, you had to undertake some project in some company or training institute no companies ever came for offering Internship.

The placement scenario is more or less the same as that in other Private engineering colleges in our batch, about 50% were placed thorough on-campus recruitment rest were either placed through off-campus or pool campusing both during 4th year and few months after passing out overall, the placement scenario is quite mediocre in my batch mostly IT companies like WIPRO and Patni visited the campus salaries offered were in the range of 2.8 to 3.3 lakhs.

The college organizes an annual tech fest called Horizon. It receives full participation from the college students and from other neighboring college students there is also a cultural fest called Zeal organised every year they usually bring some low key performers. People enjoy during the fest but it has a lot of scope for improvement other than this they organize freshers and graduation day which I found somewhat pathetic and avoidable.

The fees is quite affordable, compared to engineering degree colleges in other regions the college is bound to follow the fee structure prescribed by the University, so there was not much disparity in the fees compared to other Engineering colleges in the region tuition fees and other academic fees would be around 28 to 30 thousand per semester, although in recent times it has doubled to around 50 thousand hostel and mess charges were around 3400 per month.

All college affiliated to WBUT are bound to provide tuition fee waiver on 10% of the seats to needy students this college provides the same. It does not provide any additional scholarship, not does it assist much in getting education loans from banks.

The gender imbalance can be seen quite prominently in this college on an average, 15-17% of the student crowd is feminine, rest are males campus life is quite chilled out even though the infrastructure is inadequate students staying in the hostel have a lot of fun, there are not many restrictions in the hostel the academics aspect need some improvement. The is barely any impetus from the college for pursuing extracurriculars most of the clubs are dormant the college is entirely free of any political activities.

Students passing out from here have done quite well in life although there has been no world famous alumnus from the college till now, passed-out students have done well for themselves and hold important corporate positions the seniors of the college are the driving strength, the management is a bit laid-back most of the time.

Being affiliated to WBUT, the college follows the 8 semester system with 2 semesters every year the question papers are set and printed by at University. The same question paper is answered by all students studying in engineering colleges affiliated to WB

The quality of faculty varies from department to department the Mechanical department had the best faculty with professors from IITs and NITs the Computer Science faculty was fairly competent and the HOD was quite accomplished some for the young professor
