Experience in Sikkim University

I had a very good experience in the institute. Department is awesome and I enjoyed every moment there in the university

The course is of 2 years which includes 4 semesters. We had four papers per semester. Thouree unit tests per semester of 25 marks and best two exams marks counted in final examination. Final examination is of 50 marks amd 50 marks from the unit tests. One unit test is written exam, ome is home assignment and one is paper presentation. Exam pattern is really good, specially the paper presentation and home assignment which helps the students in future to write research papers and present seminars.

As we are not from professional department, there no placement is there. But in our university other professionals course get placement. But our department help us to get job or seat in other institutions.

Seminars, sports fest, music fest, debate, footbal tournament. Students participat in these events in high number. In our one week college fest most of our students participate. In the cultural fest students from other colleges also comes and participate.

Our admission fee is really low. Anyone can afford. Our admission fee was 4300. Hostel admission is 8200 (3000 is hostel caution money which is refundable). Our semester fee is 660 rupees per semester. Hostel seat rent for obc and general students 500 rupees and free for st/sc. Hostel mess fee is 1800. There is no additional fee. Our payment method is online. We can pay using debit or credit card. We got transport facility also. Yes we get transparency.

No, I haven't opted for any scholarship. Means cum merit scholarship is available in my college but I haven't opted for that because my family income is more than 80000

We don't have permanent campus. We have different departments in different places of gangtok. We have good facilities for sports, labs and extracurricular activities. We have a central library. Workshop and national and international seminars held in our university. We can see diversity in the students as students are from different states of India and of different tribes.

Yes, hostel facility is not good. There are 4 girls hostel and 4 boys. As the institute located in a hilly areas, it has not a permanent campus. Hotels are rented buildings. In my hostel I had to stay in a 5 seater room. Some hostels are good. Less number of bathourooms in my hostel.

Seniors are really helpful. when I first went to the department seniors help me a lot. Gave me books and notes. introduced me with every one

I got the admission thourough entrance examination. I wanted to study literature and that's why I completed my graduation from bahona college, jorhat. During my graduation I got to know about Sikkim University and its English department is really good. 1st reason of choosing the institute is the teachers are really good and helpful. And second reason is the weather and environment of Sikkim. All know how beautiful place sikkim is.Form fill up for entrance examination started in april 11 and ends in 11th of may. On 27th May, 2019 our entrance exam held. As I am from Assam I choose guwahati for exam center. On June 16 I got the result and the admission started on 20th June. I went on 21st June and reached there on 22 and took admission after the document verification and counselling.

Faculties are really good and helpful. They provide us books and other materials. We had a paper of dissertation in our fourth semester. The teachers help us with that. There are 6 permanent facilities and two guest faculties. Our HOD is Irshaad Ahmed sir who is really good at teaching poetry. They teach us really carefully. They clear our every doubt.
