College Review

The college faculty and staff is really friendly and helpful. However, Computer Technology department needs renovation as all the lobbies do not receive any sunlight. Lab facilities are to the satisfactory level. Water cooler should be installed for the students. Overall I would rate my college a 7/10.

The course curriculum for Computer Technology was really old and is now finally being renewed though I didnot have the priviledge to study in the new curriculum. There are 3 mid semesters and one end semester conducted for each semester. Labs have working and stable equipment. Students can access these labs anytime they want. Only drawback I would say is the written work i. e lab journals, considering it is Computer Technology department, this process can easily be done online which would save students from the unnecessary writing of theory for practicals.

The placements that students had this year were amazing. There is I would say atleast a 98% chance of all the students of Computer Technology getting placed. This year companies like Accenture, Capgemini, MuSigma, Principal Global, Climber, HCL, Hitachi, Infosys, Infocept, Persistent and many others visited our campus. Our college does provide internships but only to students who opt for it. I didnot opt for internship thourough college and appeared to a regular semester instead. However, my friends who opted for internship receive a stipend of around rupees 2000/month.

Each department organizes a technical fest. Computer Technology department organizes Compufest as its technical fest. A cultural festival organized on college level is known as Yash. Even some technical events can be found in Yash too. Yash is a 4 day long cultural festival which consists of traditional day, freshers, fashion show, DJ night, Singind dancing competitions, DJ wars, and many more exciting events. The participation in these events is generally about 500/- rupees.

The fee structure is feasible for a middle class family background. There are many benefits for OBC, SC students. The education received by students is justifiable for the fee structure. Even Open Castes students can apply for scholarship and freeships if the fees is too much for them to pay. Only the students who get admitted from donation quota have to pay full fees each year and no scholarship priviledges can be availed.

There are scholarships available for open caste if income is low and the same for OBC, SC students too. I avail OBC scholarship which makes my fees amount to be paid by half. So if the annual fees is 120000 then I pay 60000 rupees. I donot know about the loans facility offered by college.

Gender ratio is almost equal in Computer Technology department. In other departments boy to girl ratio is 2:1 approximately. Every month atleast 1 workshop is conducted in Computer Technology Department. Student diversity is pretty less as almost all students are Maharashtrians. There are no students of different race, ethinicity backgrounds. There can be found different students with different religions. Extracurricular activities should be inculcated more in the curriculum and coding activities should be promotted more. There is a boys cricket and football sports team of the college. A girls cricket team is also there.

I have not opted for hostel. There is no in- college girls hostel available. Only boys hostel is inside college campus. I donot think I am suitable to answer more regarding this question as I live with my parents and do not have the hostel experience.

Our seniors are extremely helpful if you manage to establish a good connection with them during their college years. Seniors help solve coding doubts and guide thourough how to study for placements and then how to choose right company to work in. Alumni meets are regularly organized who tell us about the latest technologies used by the industries and how to start learning them. Many alumni give their email addresses to ask doubts and contact them if need be.

I got admission in this college by the merit list of MHT- CET which is an engineering college entrance exam for the colleges of state of Maharashtra. The admission process was pretty simple and good facilities were made by the college. It was conducted in an auditorium which had sufficient air conditioning and comfortable seats which made the long wait seem easy. Teachers were cooperative and had good knowledge to how to respond to doubts of parents and students. I secured a seat in Computer Technology department. So I can only answer questions according to the point of view of Computer Technology department student.

The faculty in Computer Technology department do encourage doubts of students and are more than happy to help solve them. However I do find need to appoint more qualified and expert teachers who would tell students about the needs of industry and guide students thourough the path to gain all necessary knowledge to make them industry trained.
