College Review

Our college is accredited with national accreditations such as NAAC and NBA.The placements offered by the college is very good. On the other side, teachers should be some more supporting and there should be better curriculum for students.I strongly feel the college is not worth the amount we pay as tuition fee.

The courses and exam patterns college follow, are prescribed by the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.We study the basics of all streams of engineering in the first 2 semesters and in later semesters we study about the course in depth. We study a lot of old subjects which are of no use in this 21st century.There are 6 subjects in each semester and each subjects have 6 modules. There is a need of new and interesting subjects that could really help the engineers passing out to land in a good job. Exam structure is well defined with 2 series exams in each semester and each series exam covers 3modules of each subject.The exam is conducted with 2 exams a day which turns out to be difficult for students.

The main fact that i took admission in this college is because of placements.I am currently placed a reputed organisation.Placement drive starts during the 7th semester of study.Most of the students in my department are placed. Even though college dont offer any internships, some teachers personally help students by suggesting some internships.I was suggested by the faculty of our department about a internship and it was a wonderful experience.

The college is pretty good in conducting fests.There are technical fests which are conducted by each department at different times of the year.There is annual national event called 'Crossroads' where students from all over the state participates.

The fee structure is according to the rules and regulations of the govt.The annual tuition fee of the college is 75000 and there also some additional fee.It is feasible for a student to afford as its paid once in start of a odd semester.

I am not sure about the scholarships provided by the college.There are tuition fee waivers for students who come from backward castes,that too following rules of government. The college is officialy tied up with a bank so i think they will help with availing educational loans.

There is a good physical education department in the college.We have strong basketball, football,cricket teams.There are coaches to help the players with the matches and they have won many trophies from the tournaments the have participated. College also conducts sports day,arts day to students to showcase their talents.

Yes we have a excellent alumni association.The students help us thourough donations and taking out many classes during weekends.There are also some students who help students in placements.The support we get from alumni during the college fest cant be defined.

I had to take the Entrance exam organised by the Govt.Of Kerala.According to our marks scored,they will create a rank list thourough which we will be able to choose our college with respect to our ranks.There will be allotments for the colleges we selected to let us know of we are selected or not.If we are selected,we must take admission in that college.If we want another college we can also wait for next allotment. I chose 2 colleges and i got Mar Baselios college on my 2nd allotment.I wanted to do my graduation in Computer Science because i wanted to be a software engineer.The primary reason why i chose this college was because the Department of Computer Science was good and the placements they offer were beneficial to pursue my career.

There are both qualified and unqualified faculty members in the department.Most teachers in the department are not supportive.But that doesnt mean there are no teachers who support students.There are some teachers with less practical experience and some teachers who dont even care about their teaching.
