Remarks

The college is a good college as it provides vast knowledge needed for medicine and also the patient load is high, so you can learn about a lot of diseases. It is also a good college for post-graduation studies

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is good but difficult to crack. It gets you very tensed during exam days. The course duration is 4.5 years and one year of practice. And time is divided in a good manner for each subject. You have a lot to learn

Placement Experience

1.5

Our college doesn't provide internship. We can opt for post-graduation or write a PSC exam and practice as a government Doctor. The pay is also pretty good. You can also practice in private hospitals.

College Events

3.5

We celebrate almost every festivals celebrated in India. We observe memory days, special health days. We host cultural festivals, academic festivals and also invite other colleges also we go for participating in festivals of other colleges

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees includes 20000 course fee Almost 3000 miscellaneous fee Hostel fee 6000 It is collected annually But the SC at students don't have to pay the fee It is quite feasible as private medical colleges charge a lot

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know about anything like that in our college student loans are available from banks but our college supports scholarship for scheduled caste and scheduled tribe members, other eligible caste, Muslim students, students of armymen etc

Campus Life

4

Male to female ratios are usually equal In almost all the batches, a lot of talented people are there and we encourage all kinds of talents. Let it be dancing, singing, drawing, craft, sports. And we also host a number of cultural programmes

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostels are pretty good for a government college.there are 3 hostels for girls and 3 hostel for boys, another set of hostels for postgraduates and a security in each girls hostel to Ensure safety

Alumni/Alumna

We have a good alumni network and alumni meet ups are organized almost every year and they also arrange some programmes for students and they host an entrance coaching class. It is pretty good though

Admission

After writing the Kerala entrance exam, I got 135 rank and we give list of colleges according to our interests in order, my first choice was this college and I got here in the first allotment, then I came for admission

Faculty

4

The faculties are highly qualified and are eligible for teaching us. Everyone is a post MBBS, and has taken their specialization. They teach you in a well coordinated manner with PowerPoint and also clinical subjects are dealt in the clinics and patients are the textbook there

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is a bit tough rather than other courses (professional courses) MBBS is a 4 year course with 1 year compulsory internship dealing with a total of 13-4 subject over the 4 years The curriculum prepares us for the real world experiecne but more often the clinical subjects aim in patuent student interaction that overall help in the achievemnt of professionalism The frequency if exams are very high as there needs to be regular revision of subjects in order to prepare for the finals and perfect in all clinical theory and oractical aspects

Kerala University of Health Sciences - [KUHS], Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
Reviewed on Nov 30, 2024(Enrolled 2021)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is of high relevance as it ensures that the student learns everything he need to learn in an mbbs life to become a good doctor. The curriculum we are now following is decided by the National Medical Council (NMC) of India and is CBME curriculum. The curriculum include many Self directed learning methods and small group discussions etc which makes the learning interesting and easy. The curriculum definitely prepares the students to become a good doctor in future. Some minute improvements are still required like no need of these many SGDs for community medicine and forensic. It'll be better to include more field activities in community medicine . The frequency and timing of exams are sometimes a burden for the students as the exams are so close and they are not getting enough time to improve themselves which may affect their confidence. Sometimes the exams are scheduled in between some meets conducted by university which makes it difficult for the students to participate.
