Remarks

College is fantastic, people are not. Faculty is awesome, students are not. The management should be improved. Hostel life will be one hell of a ride for you. I'd say don't think twice before selecting IHM Mumbai as your college. It'll give you lots and lots of memories and will teach you about life which will be a lesson forever.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum can be improved as it still is 150 year old syllabus being followed in colleges. It desperately needs a drastic change for the betterment of students knowledge. Exam structure has gotten just a tad bit better but it can improve too.

Placement Experience

2

Yes, the internship is provided by our college but the process is really stringent and outdated. Placements are fucked up. The campus coordinator will fuck up your life. They won't bother whatever you say or do. Just ace it yourself.

College Events

4.5

The biggest festival organized by our college is Cornucopia food and trade fair, kulture kurry which is like an annual function. All the festivals are celebrated with same enthusiasm and students enjoy equally with the faculty

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is not feasible but not too expensive also. As the hostel is not available for 1st year students so the first year will be a pinch on the pocket but after that you can stay at the hostel and it'd be good

Fees and Financial Aid

No loan facility or scholarship is provided by our college as it is a government college and not a private one. But you surely can give an application for installment payment of the fees of both hostel and academic.

Campus Life

3

Our college has a sports club which organizes badminton, cricket, football, tug of war, online game tournament, etc. There's each team with girls and boys in every game. Every game has a different ratio of gender. There are certain rules and regulations which is followed in every game with the help of a referee.

Hostel Facilities

3

There's no category of hostel for girls i e. National and international which means the former is without AC and the latter one is with AC and really expensive too. The fee gap is more than double between national and international. And in boys hostel, there's no such thing it's just there's a washouroom attached to the international one but there's no AC.

Alumni/Alumna

Our college seniors and alumni are really helpful, on and off campus. They connect socially with you whenever in need. They can be better friends than your classmates and will let you be yourself. They can be a good guidance in and out of the industry as well.

Admission

I always wanted to be in service industry and especially in food area. And IHM Mumbai was my only goal when I heard about hotel management colleges in India. I chose this course over finance. The admission process is very simple. You give a competitive exam resulting in a rank which gives you a counselling college and date and you get your college on the basis of your rank.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty is super cool and cooperative. The best faculty you can ever ask for. They'll be your friends, mentor, teacher, guider and a at once. They can help you with each and everything relating to the industry and outside.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course. It helped me in my personality building and also I learned new things like- Video and photo editing, handling cameras, communication skills, Acting, Advertisement writing and shooting, and many more. Class strength is good as they allow 25-30 students for one course. Faculties were too supportive and masters of their own fields. They take 2 internals and 1 final exam at the end of the semester which is of 6 months.

I chose this course because I want to be in the film industry. I want to become an actor. This course helps us to get aware of all the media industries. Be it films or television or even radio. Now, there are even more fields such as Public Relations and Event Management. There is an almost equal number of girls and boys. The faculty have industry experience and are well-spoken. They help us in each and every way possible. The use of presentations and modules is common. The learning process is fun and easy. The examinations are conducted in a semester pattern. There are a total of 6 semesters that are conducted on time. The syllabus covers a wide range of topics such as communication, films, photography, etc.

Form third year students become eligible for campus placement. Many reputed companies like times of India hindustan times visited our college and got various students selected based on their caliber. The average package here is a around 5-10 Lakh per annum. Only those students who are talented enough for any post get selected for particular job. I'm planning to do a internship in popular media House.
