Remarks

Since it is an open university it is quite fun to be here and exposure to many things adds up to our college life. Various fests and exhibition and seminars adds up our knowledge arsenal. Not much negative remarks about CUSAT but infrastructure needs little improvement

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is vast and tough at times the lab session is definitely exhausting and but informative at the same time. Exam structure is that we have to score 50 out of 100 including both internal and external marks. External is out of 60 is a written test and we have to score at least 27 irrespective of the internal marks and we have to score 23 in internal marks. In total we have score 50 to pass the subject

Placement Experience

4

The placement opportunities and jobs are quite good, at present the college doesn't provide internship opportunities but they does encourage internships from outside. Many MNCs such as Google Sony Wipro TCL IBM companies and many more came for placement in our college

College Events

5

Every year technical fests and cultural fests are organised in our university. Since many colleges are there in our university every college holds it's own fests and common cultural fest is organised for the whole university. The technical fests attracts many sponsorship from many brands such as PlayStation workshops on Ducati,Harley Davidson and many more brands. The fest s are so big that many students all over from Kerala come for the workshops offered and to attend seminars

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is quite feasible the fees for state merit students is around 25k and for all India merit students is 44k. State merit is those students who are keralites and all India merit is the those students who are non keralites

Fees and Financial Aid

The kerala govt provides free accomodations and tuition fee waiver for reserved category students and the university union provides hridayasparsham scholarship for students coming from economically backward families. Numma oon scheme for the students who can't afford food we provide lunchtime meals

Campus Life

4

The diversity in our university is unmatched many people of different states and ethnicity and from different countries come in our university. The gender ratios differ in every department. The politics in our university stands at good grounds

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I have not opted for the hostel but the hostel facilities are average the food they provide in the mess is quite good and feels homely. There are 5 boys hostel and 5 girls hostel and one NRI hostel in which both girls and boys can stay. The hostel is cleaned regularly

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is vast and very helpful they are invited for our tech fests. Senior students are very helpful and caring, many a times they help us in our studies and in clearing our exams. Alumnis make us ready for placements

Admission

Admission to CUSAT is solely based on common admission test (CAT) which is a computer based entrance test consisting of physics maths and chemistry. I choose electrical and electronics engineering because I had a passion for it and with my rank I was easily allotted my desired branch

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is well educated and experienced but in electrical department and in many other departments the faculty to student ratio is quite measly. Permanent staffs are very less In our college. The faculty is very enthusiastic to teach

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
