KIIT: A home away from home

KIIT in general provides a lot of opportunities to the student and the students can avail anything of interested. There is absolutely no discrimination in the campus and everyone is real helpful in and always guides the students in the right direction.

The course structure is more placement oriented rather then research oriented. The main aim of the institution is to provide placement to the students with a good package. The daily time table as well as the semester exams are well spaced and never left me tired or frustrated as a student. I always looked forward to attending the classes and learning new things

The placement and job opportunities in KIIT are great as the main aim of the institution is to provide a good placement along with a decent package to it's students. The College also provides internships from 6th semester onwards. The companies that visit KIIT for placements are Capegemini, High Radius, My Sigma, Infosys, TCS etc. The package is usually between 6 and 10 lakh per annum for the students initially.

There are a lot of events happening in KIIT at any given time. They are mostly organized by the students as a member of different societies with KIIT. I have personally had the pleasure of organizing a national level quiz in KIIT as part of the quizzing society of KIIT (Qutopia). The events are usually big and see participation for various people nationally as well as internationally.

The fee structure for b.tech(4 years) is around rs. 16 lakhs for the entire course. The fee structure is reasonable compared to other private engineering Colleges in India. This includes the tuition fee as well hostel and mess charges.

KIIT provides upto a 100% scholarship for students from financially weak backgrounds or those who have secured a top 10 rank in their entrance exam. The students that have scored the top marks in the semester also get a discount on their fees for the next semester.

KIIT provides a lot of sports facilities that the students can avail. We have a gym, swimming pool, basketball court, cricket pitch, football ground etc to name a few within the campus itself. All students are allowed to take part in sports and proper coaching is also provided at a reasonable fee.

The hostel infrastructure is good with clean and freshly painted rooms being provided to the students at the beginning of every academic year. The hostel has strict rules against smoking, drugs and other illegal activities within the hostel. Strict action has been taken to discourage students from engaging in such activities.

College seniors are always helpful especially if you are staying in the hostel. They are always ready to help me and are eager to clear my doubts. They are also of a great help during the placement season as they have the experience of going through the same before.

I always wanted to do engineering in a reputed College in India. I heard about KIIT through a friend and went to give the entrance exam (KIITEE) that is held in April every year. Admission in KIIT is based on the rank obtained in this entrance exam.

Most of the faculty in KIIT are well versed and know what they are teaching. They are always eager to clear the students doubts and to help then learn new things. There are however a few faculties that are not so good but that can be fixed with a bit of understanding between the faculties and the students.
