NIT Rourkela is 2nd (in NITs) and 13th ranked (overall) college in the list of Engineering institutes by NIRF rankings published by MHRD.One can here get a hell lot of opportunities in research and can also get a very decent lackage at the end of his graduation,pg or doctorate degree.

Its a bit old curriculum.It has a lot of scope on research.The labs are well equipped.We have to face 2 exams in each semester there are 2 semester in one year and in each semester there are 2 exams one is midsem and the other is endsem.

The placements here is good but not as good as other premium NITs because of lack of an airport.The research opportunity are here very good.Its even better then some IITs also.It provides research internship to students and most of them are unpaid.The students who do internship under faculties get accommodation and food,acsess to all the labs of the institute.,

There are many scholarship programmes one can avail.NSP is there for all the students for meritorious students there are some alumni funded scholarships.Private scholarships like OPJEMS are available for the students.For loan one can easily get it from the SBI campus branch itself or he can opt for private banks outside the campus.There is no need to worry about the loans because the stalls of banks providing loans are always open in the campus and they also don't require many documents also.I have taken a loan from Canara Bank.

NIT Rourkela is known for its extremely good club culture.It has many clubs on coding,robotics,AI,mechanical, Vehicle making,Music,Debating,Dance,Cultural,literature and sports.Its SAC is not as big as IITs.It has a cricekt ground,swimming pool.Many badminton, Tennis and basketball courts.It has a new Kabaddi and volleyball court too.It has a huge separate stadium with gallery for Hockey and football.

If you want to study in NIT then there are no other options.There are separate hostels from boys and girls.Girls have 2 hostels and boys have 5 hostels,One separate hostel for married peoole.Hostels are well equipped and fullfill all the basic requirements.One can have problems with the room size and infrastructure of the hostel because the rooms are designed for one students but now 2 of the student have to share.Food is also not that good but you cant complain when you are staying in a hostel.

Yes the alumini are very helpful regarding the academics and financial help.They also guide the students for different carrier opportunities.Seniors in NIT rourkela are also very good and supportive.One can build a very strong bond with them by joining different clubs.

First one have to appear jee mains conducted by NTA after that on the basis of your all india rank you can option for a branch in NITs via JOSSA portal depending upon your rank.JOSSA has 7 rounds after that 2 special spot rounds is arranged for the vacent seats by CSAB.

Many of them have completed their PhD degrees from NITs and IITs.Some of them have completed it from many reputed foreign universities or IISC.The college has a decent ratio for students to faculties.
