Remarks
Let me just sum up about the pros and the cons Pros: 1. Amazing infrastucture 2. Ample number of placement opportunities 3. A beautiful campus and surroundings 4. Very low effort to score marks in exams 5. Lots of exposure through various workshops and seminars to stay and get updated with the latest and in demand tech 6. No criteria to get admission into the College Cons: 1. Huge crowd, ie literally a very large number of students 2. Average and below average faculties 3. Kind of strict rules and regulations but not really a big issue 4. Below average teaching methodologies and techniques of teaching Please note that these are all with respect to the CSE department only There are barely any companies for placement in other departments
Course Curriculum Overview
The Course Curriculum is just above average I would say. The important core subjects necessary for a certain branch are included but there a few lacking innovative subjects. The exams in the university consists of two Mid Semester Tests, and one final Semester End Exam. The internal marks consists of 40 marks and 60 marks are for the external exam.
Placement Experience
There are ample number of placement opportunities as far placements are concerned, but only in CSE department. In other braches, there a very low number of companies visiting the campus for placements, hardly 5-8 companies in other branches. However, in CSE department, there are easily over 150 companies visiting the campus for placements. As far as internships are concerned, the picture is the same as in the case of placements, i.e. companies in good number for CSE department and quite less in number for other bracnhes. However, the overall number of companies are quite less than number of companies for internships.
College Events
There are a lot of events celebrated in the College, The Annual Fest, Cultural Fest, Tech Fest and a lot other events too. We have a time fixed in the year for each of these events. Apart from these events, the College hosts a number of DJ nights and other fun events on a quite regular basis. Also, our College is quite an active participant in a great number of inter College competitions.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure according to me, was almost feasible when I took admission. However, there has been a regular increase since then in both the academic and the accommodation fees of the College. For our batch, the fees structure is as follows: Academic Fees - Rs 69,500 per semester Hostel Fees(includes food) - Rs 78,000 per year Rs 1,500 - exam fees for each semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are scholarships opportunities available. The various merits on which scholarship opportunities are available are On JEE MAINS marks basis On 12th percentage marks basis And On performance based on CUCAT(a merit exam conducted by the university for admission) into the College. There are also loan facilities available and College duly provides Bonafides to students for those who want to get loans from academic or accommodation fees from respective banks.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is much better compared to most of the Colleges, there are workshops on a very regular basis relating to a lot of new stuff and tech in the world going around. As far as diversity is concerned, we have students from all over the nation and also from a few neighboring countries as well. There is no sort of discrimination based on based on gender, race, ethnicity, political or social status or any other aspect for that matter.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, have opted for a hostel. There a number of hostel options available, viz Single Bed Rooms Shared Four Bed Rooms - they include AC and NON AC rooms. There are no PG facilities available. However, there a number of external PG facilities available with varying costs.
Alumni/Alumna
We have a good alumni network built around us. The seniors here are very friendly and helpful and there isn't any case of ragging or other such stuff. We are made to have regular interactions with the seniors placed in various companies so that they can provide insight as to what all things we need to focus on and improve to be successful.
Admission
As I said, there is no particular criteria and I got admission directly by applying for admission coming to the College. I was first asked to pay a sum of Rs 10,000 to get a seat locked for myself in the College. And, after that I came directly to the College, paid rest of the fees and got admission.
Faculty
The faculty of the College is mostly average to below average. The teachers have a degree alright but their teaching methodology is quite poor and not up to the expected mark. They use mostly PPTs to deliver the course content. Also, there are teachers teaching more than a single subject. This, personally to me, shows the lack of faculty.
