Course Curriculum Overview

This course is based on semesters. Each semester has approx 6 subjects. The exam conducted in this institute will be like a public exam, with no difference at all. Yes, many industry visits are there. More information will be on the official website of the college `nitc.in.`

This is a campus with the best placement and the highest package is 50 lakhs, so many internships are there we can check information about that on the official website of college nitc.in. Amazon, Microsoft, JP Morgan, Tata Motors, Maruti, Bajaj, and many.

Many events are there, mainly two types: Technical and cultural Nitc is best in conducting fests. 2nd biggest fest is conducted in nitc named ragam. Thatva and ragam are the biggest fests conducted three days and so many small events Tech week, cult week, oddessey week, Diwali, Holi, Ganesh Chaturthi. Most probably there will be two events in one month.

Being a central government college, fees depend on the categories of caste, the financial status of student family. Based on family income Income is less than. Fees 1 lakh. Nil 1lakh-5lakhs. 42000 Above 5lakhs. 125000.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, but my friends availed it, the scholarship amount is about 50000 from foundation fee, no eligibility criteria, you are a student of nitc you can apply in their website and you have to go for certificate verification. It is based on financial status. They will check your house, appliances have and select a scholarship.

Campus Life

The gender ratio is quite disappointing in my course 10:6. Being an engineering student we have too little bit about each engineering branch. This content we can get from workshops. There is no discrimination like religion-wise, genderwise, languages.

Hostel Facilities

Yes, hostels are very good. These hostels rooms are shared by 4 members for 1st year of UG, 2 members for 2nd, 3rd years of UG, for other students one per room, hostel facilities are excellent. We have to pay 1500 approx monthly.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, they will guide us. I'm very comfortable with them. They will give directions to reach our goals. They are the best guides.

Admission

I have a passion to become a railway engineer, that's why I chose this. This is the top 5th in all nits in India and 29th position in all engineering colleges including iits. The admission process is based on the rules of josaa. We have to write an entrance exam called jee mains to join this college. After that, we have to attend counseling which is conducted online. I joined this college in June 20.most probably admission will start on the third week of June.

Faculty

All are doctorates. For 40 students there is a faculty advisor who will support all issues. The core subject faculty has industry experience. Faculty will provide their email, the phone number to contact them. If we have any doubts we can clarify by phone, email, or directly.

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

This college is not what it seems in the first look.

Likes

College was at a beautiful place. It was not a city but a beautiful place.
Hostel was great. I got many friends from there.
These are the only things that I can think of.

Dislikes

Teachers, they are horrible one one teacher named aparna was professional and ethical. My HOD was the worst.
Principal is the worst. She does not hear students side. She is money minded. I had a fee pending for not more than 2 week. When I went to her for signing my medical report she demanded that she will sign only after I paid that fee
The college does not encourage extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

After 6 th semester students become eligible for placements . It's in the final years . Many companies have visited the college and made offers for the students like Wipro,Tenzo tech , infopark etc Around 70 Percent students get placement

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. I applied to other NITs and state engineering colleges and received some admissions,but selected this college because I preffered Electrical Engineering. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
