Remarks

The college is good except the hygiene. The washrooms are really very bad. Otherwise the course, curriculum, teachers, canteen, environment is good. The girls are very abusive in the college and it makes the environment quite unhealthy.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum of B. el. ed is really satisfying and appreciable. Not just theory, but also the practicals are really helpful and interesting. I enjoy my college just because they have a good course structure of B. El. Ed. The exam are held annually. There is no semester system. Exams are held in the month of May. And results are out in June - July. Internal assessments are also included and students are marked for their assignments and projects. Rest is based on the theory exams. Sometimes we have classes from 8:30 - 5 pm which is quite hectic but we generally have discussions in classes so it doesn't feel that exhausted. The course is really amazing, so the curriculum.

Placement Experience

4

There are 95% chances to get placed by our college. At the end of the term, schools and companies approach and take the interview of students and accordingly recruite them. Our course provide 1 year internship which is to be done in 4th year of our course. There is no stipend, its just for the experience and for a good CV.

College Events

3.5

The events and festival celebrations are held but are not really good. Fests are really poor. There are no night fest and also the guests they invite are no popular figure. The diwali mela is quite good. Overall, there is not much participation in them because they are not very good. Instead the students prefer to go north campus colleges of DU for fests and events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is affordable, not much expensive. Also, some students are given scholarships and their fee is reduced. SC/ST/OBC fee reduction is also there. So the fee structure is really good. It is feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

No. I didn't avail any of the scholarships. I dont know whether they give loans or not. My friend is from SC category, and she gets a reduction in the fee and scholarships to help the backward classes.

Campus Life

3

This is a girls college and therefore the involvement in games is low. There is a yoga room and gym in our college. The sports facilities are good but the involvement of students is less. Labs are properly managed. Politics and elections for college parties are very much good. There is no ragging done. So its a safe place for new comers. Our college respects every sexual orientation. There are some bisexuals in our college and they have enough freedom to be what they are. There are no assualts. And the cultural societies are a good thing in our college. There is drama, music, fashion, and much more for students to participate according to their interests. The college gives ample opportunities to participate in inter - college competitions.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are helpful if we approach them. They provide us enough knowledge and motivation. Some of my seniors are passed out and they still help us. They are really helpful and treate us as a family.

Admission

Firstly, I wanted a professional course and not just a B. A or normal graduation courses. Therefore I opted B. El. Ed which is a 4 - yr professional teaching course and this course is only available in 8 colleges of DU. So it holds a major value. Secondly, I got the admission by entrance exam. I cleared and got my name in the first list itself. After that the colleges were alloted out of 8 colleges of DU. I was alloted SPMC which was my first priority as it was near my home.

Faculty

3

There are many teachers who really teach well, whereas there are some who doesn't really teach. They just take the attendnce and go. Though it doesnt affect us much because wenhave readings and other materials to read which is quite understading. So we really don't need teachers. But the teachers who teach well are really helpful. They are very helping and responsible. All the teachers of our course are highly educated. They are doctorates, University toppers and so on. But still some are not interested to teach.

Placement Experience:

Students in B.ed course become eligible to take jobs in the last semester i.e 4th semester. The college does not provide any placement in our course instead students themself have to mail and contact different schools to secure a teching job. Average package a student can expect depends on many factors like their subjects, qualifications and skills. On an average one can expect around 6lpa in private sector. For securing jobs in government schools Students have to clear exams like DSSSB etc where average package ranges from 10 -12 lpa. Many of my seniors are doing jobs in private schools as techers while some teach online and have their you tube channels. I am planning to do masters in English literature from DU to increase my knowledge and job opportunities.

The B.El.Ed. curriculum offers an interdisciplinary approach, blending theory and practice across subjects like Education, Psychology, and Sociology. It emphasizes hands-on teaching experience through internships, where students practice in real classrooms. There's a strong focus on child development, helping future teachers understand diverse learning needs and manage inclusive classrooms effectively.
