Remarks

This is the best place in india where you spend your most important five years of life. This college teaches you a lot you will never imagine. Current Google CEO is from this place. You have people to get incipiration.

Entrance Preview

IIT JEE. I got AIR 3145 OBC. It was not a good rank to got a seat in IIT so i opted for aptitude test. I am interested in designing, drawing so i opted for IIT kgp architecture.

Course Curriculum Overview

Because of your course structure. You are always a head of people who are in colleges like SPA(School of planning and architecture). Here you have technical knowledge also. All the faculty members are Ph.D. they are very helpful.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, we have 6 month internship in our 8th sem. Stipend may be vary according to your place you are in india or abroad. As it is the part of your curriculum you got an idea about how things work. General stipend is around 15000INR.

Placement Experience

Placement is around 100%. In last batch of 2015 everyone is placed now. Companies are housing, flipkart, oyo, tiny owl, Barclays, etc.

Fee structure is 68,000 per sem (including hostel fee) hostel facilities 9/10mess facilities 7/10.

Fees and Financial Aid

MCM 1000 INR pm. Fee studentship for every student whose annual income is less than 4.50,000 per year.

Gender ratio is 1:12 :( . You can do whatever you want to do here. This campus gives you full freedom in that. IIT KGP has around 50 societies. We have annual sports meet with other IIT's in dec every year.

Alumni/Alumna

I want to mention this point at IIT KGP we call our seniors by their names not by adding "SIR" before it either he is from 5th year and i am a 1st year. This will create a bond between us. We live here like family. Alumnus always eager to help us whether at a time of intern or printing of our magazine.

After 7 semesters students are eligible to sit in placement exams. Approx. 350-400 company visit our college for recruitment. Highest package of 2024-25 session is 2.18 crore and maintaining of a average package of 18LPA .

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually from childhood I like to make creative things and according to that I think and draw and I always fascinated to do something about design. The curriculum prepared me to become a good architect. I feel sometimes the theory part should improve and also their teaching methods which are held by visiting faculties not our department faculties. The gap between two exams should be more then only we have some time for our preparation.

Placement Experience:

so if we talk about placements, then its currently not good but it does not means that placement is totally zero . it varies every year but currently its going down. so after 3rd year you can apply for internships and placements . and if you are in 1st or 2nd year then you can apply for free or paid internships to learn more and more to build you cv. Highest package offered was 2.68 crore rupees per annum and average package is around 18 - 20 lakhs rupees per annum. companies participated in last session was 61 and total offers made were 700. number of international offers were 19 (6 offers were more than 1 crore per annum). number of students placed in 2023 were 1750. popular recruiters were ITC limited, goldman, sachs, HUL . so those who dont get any job or they are not placed , they basically continue to become enterpreneur. my plans after completing my degree to become a famous architect.

It’s a ragging free campus. The infrastructure . The computer department lab is also good with PC's of good quality. The college has a , a gym, e-library, a big playground and a basketball court. Wi-Fi is available to students at all times.

Since I was interested in getting into an IIT from class 11, and IIT KGP was the only college that gave the best branch to college ratio among all other IITs that I was eligible for based off my rank. The admission process for my college for B.TECH involves JOSAA, a counselling system for all government engineering colleges in India where the eligibility criteria is based off JEE ADVANCED rank. Since you can only select one college through JOSAA, the only one i selected was this as this was the only one I was alotted based off my rank. The cutoff for my college is around 12000 for General Male and 20000 for General Female. This increases for other categories like SC ST OBC etc....Read More
