Remarks

It's amazing but boring at the same time. What makes it fun are the clubs, sports facilities, hostel life and the friends we make. Studies are always boring, but we get through them. Being away from home is a bit hard, but we manage anyway.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure is nice and adequate. Whatever is taught feels enough to cover the topic but it's also not too much to study for during exams. It builds a strong base for research. Labs are regular, not too much to stress us out.

Placement Experience

5

Internships are outsourced to other companies. College internships pay significantly lesser so are uncommon. Due to its name and significance, NITR grabs very good internships and similarly, the job offers here are also very juicy.

College Events

5

The tech-fest InnoVision, which is held every year in November, involves lots of technology-related events as well as starry nights with performances from nationally recognized stars. The cultural fest Cosmopolitan is held in January, it's an intra College fest and is organized just for the fun of the College students. NITRUtsav is the grandest annual fest. It has a mixture of everything. People from all over India come to attend it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Pretty Feasible. The actual fee is 8 lakhs for a B. Tech course which is 2 LPA. If a low-income certificate is provided it comes down to 4 lakhs or 1 LPA. Scholarships and student loans are also quite helpful for the underprivileged.

Fees and Financial Aid

All banks give student loans. I personally got a student loan initially from PNB. Most state governments provide scholarships for students coming to this College. My application for a scholarship is going on and will be hopefully processed soon.

Campus Life

5

Labs are nice. There are literally all the sports in NITR. There are clubs for people who like any type of art. Clubs that are working for social causes. An LGBTQIA awareness club. A Robin Hood club.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels for the first and second years are compulsorily sharing, with 2 people in each room. 3rd and 4th years get single rooms for themselves. The rooms are small. You get a bed, a table, some shelves, a LAN per person. The total rental for a year is 10, 000 excluding mess dues.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumni network is gigantic. We hear a lot about the different places NITR has placed and reached by now. Alumni might be helpful in the future but as of now, I don't know much about them as I am a first-year student.

Admission

I cracked an entrance exam of the name JEE. For that, I studied 2 years. My marks were very good but not good enough to get an IIT. As my main concern was to get my preferred branch which is CSE, I filled that hierarchically for the top 5 NITS. Rourkela is ranked 4th best for CSE and I got it.

Faculty

4

The faculty is very qualified and teaches very diligently. They come to the classes regularly, do not miss teaching sessions a lot, and are hard-working in helping us understand the topics. Slides, pdfs are regularly provided to aid studying.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.
