Remarks :

Positive side includes great faculties, great sports teacher and good labs. the negatives arw the college doesnt have a ground for football or cricket in itself. The ground is a private property bought by college which is around a km away from college. The college doesnt provide any financial assistance for students and the fees is high.

Course Curriculum Overview :

As far as the university is concerned, ktu is a tough university. Especially for the first three batches and then they changed the whole curriculum and syllabus. now its easier and exam patterns are simpler than before.

Placement Experience :

Placements are good at scms. scms is very famous for its outstanding teaching and placements. If we consider computer science almost everyone is placed. but the placement for core branches like mechanical or electronics is very very low. Very few companies come.

College Events :

There are a lot of cultural fests and sports conducted in and by scms. we have a volleyball tournament. We have kabadi tournament. In case of cultural fest, we have igniz and vipanchika. also we have union day celebrations, onam christmas etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee for merit students are 75000 and for management quota it is around 125000. the fees for nris are same as management fees but they have deposit of around 2. 5 lakh which will be given once theu leave the college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

They are zero scholarships from the management of college. college is very bad in providing scholarships or financial aids to students. infact the fees itself it high for management quota when most colleges have same fees for management and merit seats.

Campus Life :

There are almost equal number of boys and girls in the college. there are 6 branches and 4 years. also the campus has b arch mca and mtech students. so the sports and culturals are going very well because of participation of huge number of students.

Hostel Facilities :

I am a hosteller. the first year hostel was the most amazing and nostalgic part of our college lifes. we have a very big hostel that can accomadate around 250 students only from first year. and another bigger hostel for the rest 3 senior years.

External Expense : Rs. 2000 - Rs. 4000

Alumni/Alumna :

We have no much connection with alumni students. but one or two teachers in every branch are alumni of the college itself. they are very committed to the college and students. they tell us about the growth and devolopment of college from the last 2 decades.

Admission :

After my twelfth i had 96% for science, i was never interested in biology so decided to take engineering. so i took mechanicla engineering. from the allotment i got alloted to scms. for the first 3 allotments i got another college but for tue final one i got scms.

Faculty :

Faculties of mechanical engineering are the real back bones of the branch. they are well learned, experienced and caring. Faculties involve with students for any problems. they motivate and teach us eith very high standards.

Placement Experience:

Students can avail placenta from the 7th semester where a lot of companies are available. I don't know about the highest package but all of them are pretty decent. Most of the packages are IT and sales.

Actually placement cell is a bit week the company's is not that reputed and they offer monthly salary of 12k to 15k. Probably some startup companies. And many students choose that and work for 1 or 2 years to gain experience and then they apply for better opportunities.

SEEING STCET THROUGH MY VISION

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year onwards we could attend placement interviews and many companies used to approach our college but mostly IT companies as I was in civil dept the construction companies were very less or NIL. In our batch, most of the students got placed and many offer letters but the only disadvantage was the offers were not from the core companies.
