Remarks

More faculty needed in Physics department. I don't know about other streams but for my course, out teachers face lots of problems to complete the syllabus since we do not have enough teachers. As a result, they have to work too hard to complete our syllabus and clarify all the doubts.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is really good and should be maintained. We are supposed sit for 2 semesters each year for total 3yrs course. That is, a total of 6 semesters. For each semester we first appear for internal exams, then Practical exams and at last theory exams.

Placement Experience

0.5

No, there is no opportunity for job placement or internship atleast from my stream. I am pursuing B.Sc Hons course in Physics and there is no such opportunity from a college to provide internship. As far as I know, Government colleges cannot provide a direct internship or job to a B.Sc student. In future, if any such opportunity comes, I will be really happy.

College Events

4

My college never misses out to celebrate any event with the students. So many events took place in these 16 months of my college life. We celebrated the teacher's day, Durga Puja, Fresher's Party and even a few councillings by psychiatrist. Yes, our college makes sure the all of the students are having a good mental condition and not facing any depression. We had a few fun filled councillings done by psychiatrists who were specially invited by our Principal Ma'am.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I won't say the fees structure is too good. I am just okay with it. Before I took admission in this college, I knew that Government colleges charge very less amount for tuition fees. But the year I took admission, the new semester system was introduced and the fees was really hiked to a huge amount. I have seen many students facing problem to pay their college fees due to such a change in the system.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since I study in a Government college, there was already a scholarship scheme provided by the Government for unmarried girls: Kanyasree Yojna. Though my college did not introduce the scheme, but the teachers really helped me to apply for the scholarship. I received 25000 Cash scholarship that wouldn't have been possible without college's cooperation.

Campus Life

4

I won't say that the lab facilities are excellent. We surely get a lot of cooperation by our teachers to complete our practicals but all the lab equipments are not of good quality. So times we get the instruments only a few days before practical exams, which is quite a problem.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

We don't have any college hostel in our college. I stay near by college and I never thought to opt for college hostel. But, this is surely a huge problem for the students who live far from the college.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, all the seniors are really helpful. I have got many favours from them, sometimes to learn something or sometimes for a book suggestion. Seniors has always helped. We never faced any kind of ragging. Rather seniors from other streams many times helped us during our semester admissions.

Admission

I filled up my admission form for U.G Physics Hons course after my 12th result was out. Few days later the merit list of students were uploaded on the college website and I found my name there. On the very next day I went to the college and got my admission done.

Faculty

4.5

I don't know about all the faculties, but for my core course and general courses I have surely got excellent teachers. All the teachers are so supportive and friendly. They help us so much to complete our syllabus and clarify all our doubts. Especially our Head Of the Department is indeed an excellent teacher. He always make sure that we are not having any doubt or facing any problem.

I think I'm a curious student. Integrating biology with technology is interesting Recently we are studying animal tissue culture plant tissue culture which is superb. Generating a plan from a single cell is truly something interesting. I was drawn to genetics and biotechnology application . This curriculum prepares a student for research and industrial purpose . We get to do lab experiments project work under professors. In my opinion improvement can be done by industrial visits Exams take place at the end of each semester and we have mid sems in between

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum in terms of relevance as moderately relevant. My decision to choose this course was primarily influenced by its research learning facility and practical based learning. The curriculum helps each individual to prepare for further comepetitive exams and expanding their jobs option with full and profound knowledge of data based works and computer skills. To enhance the course curriculum and teaching methods , I would suggests dedicating deep learning with lots of real life examples, updating the syllabus to recent advancements Providing recorded lectures would be of so much help and providing more opportunities for students to present their work giving them detailed feedback would improve the skills and learning capacity of the students.
