Remarks

The faculty at the college are so experienced. Also the faculties at the college are mostly pass-outs from IITs, NITs or other prestigious institutions. Also they are so open so that we can ask them anything you want.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is almost similar to the most technical universities. The exams in the course curriculum will be comprising of internals as well as external marks, and, you have to get a separate pass in the external exam.

Placement Experience

The placements are comparatively less. So I prefer to opt for ECE, IT, CS because they have better opportunities as well as packages in the placement. it would be better if students to internships it in the occasions because internships' certificates can boost your placement possibility.

College Events

The main events conducted with in d college include a technological fest named Dhishna, where the students exhibit their skills in the technical fields as well as there will be seminar conducted. Also there will be an arts fest, sports fest,.

Fee Structure And Facilities

fee structure of cusat btech courses are comparatively expensive when compared to the other engineering college within Kerala. The seats here are originally divided into state merit seats and all India merit seats.

Fees and Financial Aid

The main scholarships are: 1)Post Matric Scholarship For Minorities -NSP(PMS). 2)Central Sector Scholarship -NSP(CSS). 3)State Merit Scholarship -DCE(SMS). 4)District Merit Scholarship -DCE(DMS). 5)Merit Scholarship to the Children of School Teachers -DCE(MSCT).

Campus Life

Labs are good. Sports and youth activities are conducted by the youth welfare department. The department will organize inter university, intra university and inter hostel cultural competitions and cultural activities and workshops in the campus. Spacious play grounds are provided in the students' hostels and necessary facilities exist for outdoor games like cricket, hockey, volley ball, badminton and various other athletic events

Alumni/Alumna

School of Engineering Alumni Association (SEAA) is a non-profit organization which aims to to provide a platform through which the alumni, staff, faculty, and students of SOE can interact with each other for mutual benefit. The SOE Alumni Association, it was initiated in April 2009

Admission

First the college will publish notification in the newspaper or on the concerned website. You have to apply for the entrance exam, and, the name of the entrance exam is CAT. Admission will be based on your score in this entrance exam.

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

I choose btech cse cause it was the trending course at that time and I was computer science student in my high school so it was best for me to choose btech cse at that time. And I believe it cold be a great career choice

This college is not what it seems in the first look.

Likes

College was at a beautiful place. It was not a city but a beautiful place.
Hostel was great. I got many friends from there.
These are the only things that I can think of.

Dislikes

Teachers, they are horrible one one teacher named aparna was professional and ethical. My HOD was the worst.
Principal is the worst. She does not hear students side. She is money minded. I had a fee pending for not more than 2 week. When I went to her for signing my medical report she demanded that she will sign only after I paid that fee
The college does not encourage extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Likes

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Programs and activities are good and the support

There are a lot of assignment often for the students

After 6 th semester students become eligible for placements . It's in the final years . Many companies have visited the college and made offers for the students like Wipro,Tenzo tech , infopark etc Around 70 Percent students get placement

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Remarks:

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.

Good learning environment with a good campus life

I choose Cochin University Of science and technology for Mtech Instrumentation Technician beacuse of its good reputation, affordable fees, and experienced faculty, and better focus on core technical subjects. I also got admission to Delhi University, but i prefer CUSAT because it was more affordable and better suited for instrumentation and automation studies. Life of CUSATian

I have only applied to CUSAT, we i was not able to get admission there i would choose to work in a company. It was just a try from my side, but it actually worked out. For MTech, GATE qualifiers can direclty get the admission without any other exams. They can also avail monthly stipent of around Rs 10000. Other exam for admission is DAT exam which is conducted by the respective department of the course. I have taken the DAT exam under the Department of Statistics , where this MTech Data Science and Analytics is present. The eligibility includes BTech or MSc. Cutoff is majorly based on the number of students writing the exams and the number of seats. So cutoffs can vary. Students are selected based on the DAT ranklist. Spot admission is conducted for the remaining seats. There is also a least chance for students who didnt write the DAT Exam can also get the admission at the 2nd or 3rd spot admissions....Read More

A look into inside of School of Management Studies, CUSAT

CAT/CMAT/KMAT any of the score is mandatory. Out of all applications recieved, the initial shortlisting will be done based on these score normalised. Around 500 students get shortlisted. Then GD and interview will be conducted. Based on that final rank list will be prepared. 70% weightage is for score of any management test. Amd remaining 30% weightage is for GD and PI together.
