Which is better, a BTech in mechanical engineering from GEC Thrissur or BTech in safety & fire engineering from CUSAT?

There is no better course as the choice of a course depends a lot on one’s preferences and future prospects. You need enough passion to like a course because every course has its good and bad parts. BTech in Mechanical Engineering should be considered only if you are interested in it genuinely because it’s quite challenging. BTech in Safety and Engineering is mistakenly considered to be the easiest BTech program but the reality is far from this. This course covers topics from Mechanical, Civil, and even Chemical. As a result, this branch ends up being the Jack of all trades but the Master of none. The students of this branch are capable of handling HSE in almost any type of industry. The placements of the Safety and Fire Engineering program are decent despite the limited opportunities. Companies like Reliance, BPCL, IOCL, ONGC, and VEDANTHA make good offers here. So my verdict is to go for Mechanical if you are sure about your interest in it else Safety and Fire Engineering is a good choice.

Which one is better CUSAT IT or mechanical?

CUSAT IT has better placement record than Mechanical Engineering. Major software companies such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Oracle, Cognizant, Tata Project, etc. visit the campus placement each year. All you need to know about Cochin University

The curriculum is too difficult to learn since the academic year is short comparing other colleges

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee structure while joining the course said total of rupees 48900 per semester and there is a caution deposit of rupees 1500 approximately while joining but this might vary. And at present this might have increased . The university is increasing the semester fee bt 3 percentage every year (this is legally permissible). Apart from this we are asked to pay certain amount as PTA fee at the joining time. Also alumni fee is mandatory while leaving the college. The exams fees and other miscellaneous fees are included in the semester fee. The value of money is there for the course. Even though it is little over the price comparing other kerala government colleges

Cusat is nice only

The exams are conducted consecutively, and each day there is two exams happening . That was for internal exams but when it comes to sem exams we get one day between each exam which is really hard for people like me who don't study well in prior.

I have to pay approximately 60000 per year as fees Since I have state merit admission I have less fees compared to all india merit and nri students. For me the fee structure is as follows:- Tuition fee per semester Rs.23620 Library fee Rs.210 Lab fee Rs. 545 Quasi fee Rs. 210 Extracurricular activities footnote Rs.910 Caution deposit Rs.1350 Matriculation fee footnote Rs.350 Co curricular fee Rs.140 Total fee Rs 27965 This is per semester. For sc/st candidates total fee is really low, around 1300 per semester.

Life in CUSAT

There is two merits for fee structure All India merit and State merit. Students from Kerala is in state merit other states than Kerala is in All India merit and the remaining All India merit seats are also available for Kerala students. All India merit seat fees is allmost 1 lakh per annum . State merit fees is almost 55000 per annum. Which slightly varies semester vise and year wise. Fees are paid in semester vise. SC ,ST, OEC students doesn't have tuition fees, hostel fees and mess fee , they can study here for absolutely free. There is e grantz scholarship for other economic weaker section which can cover almost half of the fees they are paying. The quality of education, facilities and qualified faculties makes it worth the fee.

Well i study in cusat and i am in my first semester and i got into cusat by the category of CGW which is where if your parents are gulf workers you are eligible and for the first sem i jave pai a total of 64220 where tutiin fee is 49800 , library fee is 250 , laboratory fee is 650 , examination fee is 2400 ,miscellaneous fee is 1180 , PTA is 4000 and DDF is 1000 and this fees are for the first semester and then for the second semester is 53910 so yearly it is a total of 118330 the college does provide the scholarships like E grands and some other scholarship where the fees are halfed for people who can't pay the full amount

Cochin University- An experience unforgettable

There are a total of 5 labs for mechanical engineering including the thermal and fluid mechanics lab which comprise of the latest technology

I have entered CUSAT under the All India Merit Scheme which demands a higher fee rate of 100000 per year. I did not avail any reservation. Some of my friends joined under State Merit for which we have to pay 60000 per year. I dont have any idea about SC/ST category although l know its less for them. The 100000 fee is not only that of tuition but every fee included

Fee will be paid according to sem wise. For 1 sem it is around 46000 for all india merit, 20000 for state merit and 60k for NRI seats. And there is a scholarship called E Grantz for reservation category

COET MY ME

In this college normal fees for b tech stream is around 45000.But i am paying around 6500 a year because of my cast eligibility concertion.The fee that are paid by SC and ST students are like this also.They can only pay around 6500 a year.My friends pay 45000 a year as fees they don't have any concertion.Foe students in this college can apply scholarships like E-grands .

The total fee structure also includes other components like: library fee, lab fee, caution deposit, and registration fee. The fee for all india merit student is about 55k per semester and 32k per semester for state merit students

Btech at CUSAT, what ti expect?

Detailed fee structure is that you have to pay 55000 per semester with accounts to 120000 per year which is clearly not that bad when we compare with other colleges lake view and BITS Pilani the management is done by government and the vice chancellor
