Remarks
The good thing about the college is their faculty who are very nice, humble and polite. You can take advice from them on any matter. More importantly the best thing about the college is its placement. The bad thing about the college is the hostel accomoda
Entrance Preview
I Took the CUSAT All India Entrance Examination. I got 2200 Rank in the Entrance Exam. I had an interest in computer aplications and i wanted a graduation degree in the same, so i opted Information Technology in B.Tech.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is compact and consized and upto date. Meaning the course syllabus is upgraded every 3 years. As the college is the first to start the course of B.Tech in Information technlogy, the syllabus standards are maintained. The faculties are well abled and cooperative. They support the students throughout the course.
Internships Opportunities
I have an experience of only one internship at this time. Many companies came for recruitment and i got selected in three of them. But i prefered to go to the company situated in the current city as it was suitable for me. The work experience was very good and i look forward to go for a second internship the coming year.
Placement Experience
The placements are excellent meaning that all the eligible candidates are recruited to various National and Multinational companies. Companis Like TCS,Wipro,HCL INFOSYSTEMS,L&T ECC ,MICROSOFT,GOOGLE India,ORACLE, etc. visit the campus. Package varies from 3.65 L to 16.5 L.
College Events
There are many college festivals and technical fests organized. Tech Fest is organized once a year during the months of Jan-Feb. Various workshops are organized within them and a concerned student can participate in any of them. There are generally three festivals organized VIPANCHIKA , ARTS , ONAM CELEB. Three of these have active participation of students from various departments."Sunburn","DJ Nights","Music Bands" occasionally visit the campus.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The hostel rooms are strictly restricted to double beds. All the basic aminities are available including Wifi but with a monthly charge. Alternatively a student can also live in a PG. Plenty of them are available around the campus. The Average rent of hostels are Rs 450-500 and in PG are Rs1000-1500. The food in Mess is up to the mark and healthy. Additional fee of Rs 2000-2500 is applicable.
Fees and Financial Aid
Loans can be avaliled from the Nationalized banks. Also Scolarship of Rs 30,000 is given to the branch topper in a semester and an additional Rs10,000 is given to the University topper.
Campus Life
Gender Ratio varies from branch to branch. Like in Mechanical Engineering the ratio of male to female is 90:1 and in CS,IT,ECE its 50:50. Parties are organized rare but if organized it happens to be a good one. Politics is present as there are active student parties to meet the student demands. Sports events are organized during the month of Sept-Oct every year and the events take a time duration of minimnum 30 days to complete. Individual workshops are held frequently appart from integration in Tech Fests. Debates and other extracurricular activities are organized in the festivals itself with a vast range of competition.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumuni network is good. Plenty of passed out students keep on visiting our campus at regular intervals. They provide us valuable inputs on how to study and how to prepare for placements. They keep on sharing with us their experience how they took things in their college life and also they tell us about their job experience. Their words are quite motivating and we get a lot of inspiration from them. Most of them are quite well settled in their respective fields.
