AWESOME UNIVERSITY

The university is really good. The placements are the main reason for students joining the university. I must say Chandigarh University is the best university in terms of placement. The overall remark about the university is positive. Although the university has a strict rule of having 75% attendance. Apart from this the university is very good.

The course curriculum is very good. They always update their curriculum. There is a meeting setup in which they discuss about the curriculum in detail. They also ask company officials what they are expecting in the curriculum so that the students are industry ready.

There is an ample amount of placement opportunities. There are more than 300+ companies visiting the university every year. The number is just growing. Big companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft also visit the university and take students.

All the events are celebrated with so much of enthusiasm. There are different clubs set up. Each Indian festival is celebrated. Many a times Bollywood actors come to promote their movies. There are many fests conducted like Tech fest or CU fest. We also have Innovation day.

The fees is quite feasible because taking into consideration the infrastructure and amenities provided it is feasible. Nowadays all the private universities have similar fees structure. For CSE-IBM the fees is 84500 rupees per semester in 2016.

CU offers 100% scholarship through it's entrance exam. Loan facility is also available through SBI or HDFC. There is also a 10% scholarship for defense background students. The scholarship is given at a condition that the student must maintain 7.5 CGPA in all the semesters.

There are a lot of extra curricular activities in the university. Name any activity and they have it. There are almost all the major sports which are played. We also have American Football. The university is having its own sports complex which has badminton halls, running tracks, football ground. It also has a multi purpose hall. The sports facilities are really good.

I have not opted hostel but I can tell you about my friends. The hostels have 4 bed, 3 bed or 2 bed. The price varies accordingly. We also have an option for AC or Non AC. The hostels are close to the university so it is very convenient to come and go. The food is not of top quality. Students usually complain about the food.

The senior students and alumni are really helpful. They visit the university and interact with the students and tell them about the life in corporate sectors. There is a peer to peer mentoring session arranged for the Juniors so that the Juniors can actually interact with the seniors and gain knowledge.

Went to the reception, then I was forwarded to the counselor who told be about the courses. Then I liked Computer Science Engineering. Paid the fees and then got the admission. After fees payment I was taken to the registration where they clicked my photograph for the ID card. That is all about the admission process.

Faculty is very friendly. Some are actually PhD. The faculty is having immense amount of knowledge. Sometimes the faculty have to be strict about the attendance and all because the university forces them to do so.
