Remarks

The best thing I found in this college is that it has a friendly environment. Ragging here is strictly prohibited and everyone in the college adhere to it. Coming to some negatives is that the infrastructure of the college is not well developed. As it has been in Chandigarh since 1953 only a few buildings are well developed rest all the buildings are as old as the college.

Placement Experience

5

Take as long as you like to find the right internship, but remember that it’s how you perform in the job that counts. Dress professionally, show up on time, and willingly accept any assignment given to you. Consider meeting with your supervisor to set some goals for your experience, and always do your best work. Once your internship is complete, thank your mentors and be sure to remain in touch going forward.

College Events

5

There are many events which are celebrated in our college like parivartan, aagaz, radio day, bhaisakhi, diwali, dushera, Christmas and many more. Cultural fest with the name of parivartan is the major event of the college and is one of the most famous fest in the north india. It is celebrated in the last week of September and continues for three days. Other events include sports meet which is also celebrated every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The best thing I found in this college is that it has a friendly environment. Ragging here is strictly prohibited and everyone in the college adhere to it. Coming to some negatives is that the infrastructure of the college is not well developed. As it has been in Chandigarh since 1953 only a few buildings are well developed rest all the buildings are as old as the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

All the branch openers that is the student with the highest rank scored in each branch gets full tuition fee waiver, All physically challenged students also get full fee waiver, All students belonging to SC/ST category gets full fee waiver, and few students whose family income is less than ?2,50,000/year also get full fee waiver. These few are selected on the basis of JEE-MAINS rank.

Campus Life

5

There are no. Of extracurricular activities in the college like games sports football volleyball badminton and many other games.there is mobile gaming also.there are no. Of labs in our college. The institute has a very good and a proper course curriculum helpful for us in each and every field. Exams are divided into two parts mid-semester which take place when half of the semester is finished which comprises of half of the syllabus completed till then in that semester and end semesters which include all the syllabus covered in that semester. Along with this monthly quizzes are also held which also holds a weightage in the final totalling of marks.

Hostel Facilities

5

The college has four hostels for boys and two hostels for girls. Of the four hostels for boys only one hostel named Shivalik has a good infrastructure rest all the three hostels are outdated their condition is extremely poor. Talking about the girls hostels as I have heard they are good in condition.

Alumni/Alumna

No comments on alumni network and senior students all are very helpful. There is a strong alumni network every year alumni meet is organised to get in touch with the alumni of the college as well as the senior students of the college. Yes they are very helpful as they took out time from their busy schedule and get together to help the institute improve.

Admission

I directly go to college for admission and they take my certificates and fill my forms for admission. They fill my prospectus for admission and then they grant me admission. It may depend from person to person. The annual fee structure for 2018-19 batch was 1.2 lakhs but it changes every year with a hike of 8000-10,000 along with this hostel fee is about 65000 per annum with a hike of 5000 every year.

Faculty

5

Faculty of my college is very good. I truly love it here, and there are way too many positive attributes to this college. One thing I would change is the student government system. It is a bit corrupt. The school is just the right size, in my opinion! It is a larger school, but you see people you know everywhere. Also, you can always reach out and get to know your professors. When I tell people that I go to the University of Florida, they usually react positively (even if they are from a rival school) because it is well-known as one of the top public universities in the nation. Most of my time on campus is probably spent in Library West, the main library on campus and my favorite study spot.

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

In 3rd semester a student is eligible for campus placement but it is all upto to students that they have to maintain a good cgpa and skills for interviews. In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. After getting degree I firstly join to the company .

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
