Remarks

The college is one of the best medical colleges in India. The number of staff however is subminimal nd there is some delay in the proceedings due to this. The coolege provides basic treatments free of cost for all the patients

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The Course contains 4 and a half year sylabus followed by a 1 year mandatory internships.Only after the internship the graduation certificate is given. There will be university exams conducted every year. From the second year onwards there is also clinical postings where we are exposed to the patients and we develop a rapport with them

Placement Experience

4.5

Since the college is higty reputed placement is almost sure for most of the students passed from here. The college provides a 1 year internship which is mandatory for all students to complete their course. There will be lots of work for the interns and the stipend is low compared to the workload

College Events

4.5

Almost all events are celebrated in the college staring from New year to christmas. We also celebrate our cultural events such as Onam ,Vishu ,Diwali, Holi and many more. We also conduct awareness about various health issues faced by our community.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is indeed feasible. Since it is a government institution the fee structure is very low compared to private colleges.Every students are able to afford the fee structure and also there is scholarships for the economically backward class.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a central government scholarship and a state government scholarship to help students who are economically backward. The tution fee is covered under the scholarship. The problem with them is that they are not regular.

Campus Life

4

The college union is always active in comducting programs and to be honest they are superb. It helps a lot to reduce the stress during studies and to maintain a healthy lifestyle. There will be an annual sports meet and arts every year.

Alumni/Alumna

There is an alumi club in college.Senior students help us a lot in our studies. They are really helpful not only in matters regarding studies but also helps in extra curricular activities. They also follow strict anti ragging policies so that juniors get their freedom

Admission

I got my admission through an entrance examination called NEET.NEET is a common entrance examination conducted all over India every year to get admission in medical and dental colleges. After the results are announced there will be an allotment process where we are able to give options to the colleges that we wish to study according to our priority. The alloted students can get their seats in govt medical colleges and the remaining students can durther apply to private medical colleges

Faculty

4

The faculties are good.Since it is a government coolege the care given to each students by the teachers are less compared to Private colleges. They are highly qualified and most of them have good teching ability.

The course is a bit tough rather than other courses (professional courses) MBBS is a 4 year course with 1 year compulsory internship dealing with a total of 13-4 subject over the 4 years The curriculum prepares us for the real world experiecne but more often the clinical subjects aim in patuent student interaction that overall help in the achievemnt of professionalism The frequency if exams are very high as there needs to be regular revision of subjects in order to prepare for the finals and perfect in all clinical theory and oractical aspects

Reviewed on Nov 30, 2024(Enrolled 2021)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is of high relevance as it ensures that the student learns everything he need to learn in an mbbs life to become a good doctor. The curriculum we are now following is decided by the National Medical Council (NMC) of India and is CBME curriculum. The curriculum include many Self directed learning methods and small group discussions etc which makes the learning interesting and easy. The curriculum definitely prepares the students to become a good doctor in future. Some minute improvements are still required like no need of these many SGDs for community medicine and forensic. It'll be better to include more field activities in community medicine . The frequency and timing of exams are sometimes a burden for the students as the exams are so close and they are not getting enough time to improve themselves which may affect their confidence. Sometimes the exams are scheduled in between some meets conducted by university which makes it difficult for the students to participate.
