Entrance Preview

I took admission in asansol engineering college through WBJEE(west Bengal joint entrance exam) with a rank of 31875 in the branch of COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING (CSE). I was interested more towards programming language and computer software so I took this branch. I got admission by the normal counselling process held by WBJEE board.

Internships Opportunities

I haven't attended any internship programme bur according to our seniors the use to get a lot of knowledge by the internship programme. A numerous of companies came who provided internship to the students such as tech mahindra, TCS, IBM, Mindtree and many more with an awesome stipend.

Placement Experience

Placement record of this college is an awesome to know about. This year in my branch only approximately 80% of the students are placed and some of them also have get 2-3 jobs. Mainly the list of companies visiting the college are TCS,mindtree, infosis, mahindra tech etc. and many more. The job opportunity is also good after passing out from this college.

The college use to organise a tech and a cultural fest each and every year which have a series of functions and adventurous events. The event end in 3 days and is a lot big enough to make known in the whole city. and the participation is also awesome. A lot of student use to take part in it.

The gender ratio depends on the branch or stream ,in mechanical branch there are a few girls whereas in Cse department 50% of population is of girls. Competition level is also good among students competing each other for defeating.

There are 2 boys and 2 girls hostel. In girls all the girls except locals use to live in the hostel and in boys who wants hostel live in hostel and rest use to live in PG. The rate of hostel is Rs.2500 living and Rs.2500 fooding per month. But the quality

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

we are eligible for placement from 7 and 8 semester also their are many placement on thee intern companies. thier are total of 50 t0 60 companies that visits year which leads to very good placement percentage, in mining its above 90 percent. companies which come are infosys, microsoft, google , coal india, tcs, pwc etc. the higest pacage was 39 lacs by coal india. as mentioned above the placement is very good and almost everybranch placement is between 79 to 95 percentage of student which are placed, their are many mass recruiter if you didnt get the best pacakge you still have the chance to get a good package from the mass recruiter. my plan after degree is to advance in computer science even if i dont have the branch but i have the passion to do coding and become a web developer also i will try to get some more degree like mba and mtech and i will also try if i get selection to study abroad.

Highest packages last year was 47 LPA (off Campus) 27LPA ( on campus). Average pakage was 5-6Lpa. The job role is Software Development. Percentage of Students Got placement is 92-95% In my Deoartment. Other is Around 70_90%. My plans to take placement from product based company.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
