Course Curriculum Overview

My course curriculum is inclusive of everything for my degree. I have to study a lot but also have time to relax. Exams are different from other courses. No teacher sets the same type of exam paper for their subjects.

Placement Experience

The placement drive is tough and very competitive. I haven't yet sat for the placement drive. There are also internships organised for students. Students with coding experience do enjoy certain preference when going through placement.

College Events

I really enjoy the annual fests that are held in the college. There are also sports competitions and other competitive events held throughout the year. I also get to attend talks from industry experts from time to time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees I pay is on a per semester basis. The total fees is on the higher side. I pay a total of Rs. 109050 every semester. This includes tuition fees, hostel fees, medical insurance, electricity and water fees etc. The fee structure is different for different category of students i.e. SC/ST/OBC etc.

Hostel Facilities

I stay in the hostel provided by the college. I got a bed, desk, chair and other basic furniture in my room. The room is enough for a student and also clean. There is a also a gym for students who wish to workout.

Alumni/Alumna

All my seniors are very friendly. They are always there to help us with any issues. We have received help with notes and also during exams. I have managed to make friends with some seniors too. I relish my relationship with them.

Faculty

I respect and love my teachers. All of them are very welcoming and friendly enough that no one hesitates to talk to them about any doubts we have. I can call them up also if i had any problems with their subjects.

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.
