Because it's a small college, the personal connection with the people there will be deep. I don't know if you'll love the studies there. But the 4 years of life hou get there, with the friends and teachers will be the best 4 years of your entire life.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum focused more on theory than practical. There is 6 theory papers each semester and 2 Labs. A semester lasts for 5 months ending in the semester exam and lab exams. If you're above average in studies and moderately hardworking, you can easily pass the course without any backlogs.

4.5

Placement opportunities are really great. Almost 75% of the students were placed in MNCs within a year of course completion. Rest 25% went for higher studies or something else. Starting salary on average will be around 15000-25000 per month.

Campus Life

3.5

Really great experience and exposure to extracurricular activities and sports. Special Support is provided for people who are more into practicing the study material, experimenting and inventing things on their own.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni association is supportive. There are companies run by alumnus of our college which give consideration to the students from their alma mater. Every year they conduct Alumni meet in the college. Mostly during December for the Students to come back to their college and rekindle the memories.

Admission

The marks of KEEM - Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination and the Marks scored in Physics Chemistry and Mathematics in the Higher Secondary Passing examination is used to calculate the Rank list. Once eligible, there's an online allotment form in which you can give applications to various Colleges and available courses. After the allotment is done, which happens in waves top down the merit list, the admission process is taken care of by the respective colleges.

Faculty

4

Faculty consists of about 25% permanent staff and 75% contract staff. Permanent staff are all really good. Contract staff is mostly a moxed bag. Some professors are great, some are average and some are there just because they need a job

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college is very active. You can get internships starting 2nd year and placements starting 3rd year. About 75% of people get placed. Many MNCs like Texas Instruments are consistent hirers. The highest package of 2025 for my course is 1 crpa. The average is about 7 lpa. A student can get 5,6 offers. I plan on higher studies abroad because I want to learn more in-depth about the course.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies - [KUFOS], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Food Technology)
Reviewed on May 11, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.
