Life at DTU

Its location is quite unsuitable for the students living away from college because its in outskirts of Delhi but thanks to metro service and easily available e-rikshaw which is making our connection to college easy.

Course structure with A Focus On Research is average because of lack on availability of resources. But it also depends branch to branch, in some branches there is no such issues but in some it is. So its good if you design your projects according to availability. One more thing every student will get some amount for their work especially who don't get stipend from government.

Placement is on an average because again its good for some branches and also good for Bachelors degree holder because they need to start from very basic. But for Masters and for my branch it need to be more specific because if anyone is doing masters in particular field than he/she must want to continue in that field only instead of changing it for job. Yes DTU provides internship to the students of other universities on paid basis.

DTU is a ground of events, fests and celebration. We celebrate every festival in DTU starting from Lohri to Christmas. We enjoy too many fests here. We have technical Fest, Cultural fest, Literature fest, etc. Starting from January first we celebrate YUVAN Fest, than we celebrate biggest fest i.e. Engifest and so on. Many big personality such as actors, singers, dancers, IAS officers, comedians, wonderful artists, etc.

In comparison to semi-government or government universities fee is quite expensive but if we compare it with private universities its on similar ground. So its better to choose DTU instead of any private university because it has better name or fame than them and nowadays in market name is also needed with talent.

Scholarship is available according to marks. Students who are not getting any stipend can apply for all the government scholarship either Khurana's program of scholarship, APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship etc. There is also one sort of fee reimbursement type scholarship based on family income of students. This can also be avail by students who is not getting any prior scholarship or stipend.

For extra curricular activities we have too many options like we have sports complex for cricket, badminton, basketball, etc. We also have gym facilities in university and also open gym in parks of university. Some of the sports events were also organised by the team such as DTU run, tournaments, treasure hunt. etc. I can't say much about gender ratio because it all depends on students. Sometimes gender ratio is equal sometimes its different, it gets change with time. Most probably more boys use to play than girls and more girls use to spend time in labs than boys. But sometimes this get reverse too.

I am a day scholar not opted for hostel but my friends are from hostel. As much i know hostel facility is quite good and comparatively at cheap price and security is also good. Most important is food which is better than other universities, i won't say its same as home but its quite good. Campus is very big and good to spent time after class which hostelers love it.

I don't know much about every departments but my seniors are very friendly and helpful and so we are to our juniors. Even one of my senior ask herself from me that if i want she will provide me notes of previous semester as well as all the previous year question papers whatever she had with her.

Admission is through entrance exam either National level or college entrance exam for some courses. For B.tech courses admission is preferred through IIT or AIEEE exam ranks and for M.tech admission is done on the basis of GATE exam ranks. But for three non stipend courses of M.tech admission is done through university entrance exam.

Plus minus is always there in every organization or institute, nothing is perfect. According to me faculty is good to teach their courses and other things wherever need is there. Thing is you need to be that talented to take out 100% from them according to your need apart from the course study.
