Remarks

The College is a high spirit of education, celebration and holy welcoming college. They have the best kind of students and teachers who are the backbone of the students. Above all this, the office staffs and non office staffs are the best. We have such office bearers who gets done anything and everything required by the students in the most quick way. They gets done half the job of the college in a well maintained manner. Never wastes our time, going behind them for getting a work done. It is all done on time.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is pretty good. Our college even gives special entrance test preparation period after college hours. The curriculum is easier than the curriculum of other colleges outside kerala.

Internships Opportunities

I don't know particularly about internship being offered by our college. And we are not offered internships im between the academic year, if we prefer internship, we could apply by ourselves and join. Half of the students apply for CDS Trivandrum and KELA mostly.

Placement Experience

1

The placements and job opportunities are comparatively less. Because they provide job opportunities mostly for BCom students, which does not leave economics students a chance. We have placements from several banks, SBI, SIB, Federal Bank, Canara bank, Axis Bank, etc.

College Events

5

We celebrate every cultural occasions like, onam, Christmas. We had one of the best live shows scheduled in our college last year. Which was called the "Live Strings". For which, we had amazing musicians such as Franko, Alphonse sir, and dancers fame from Television. We celebrate, freshers day and farewell. We also celebrate college day in which the best talents are portrayed. Every class is given a chance to put up an event on the stage. We also have fine arts fest in college seeking for the best talents for the coming competitions like dzone, interzone, southzone and nationals.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very feasible. Which ranges from 2000-40000. Aided courses have the least fee. For eg; my 5th semester fees was just Rs. 3450. And for self finance courses, it goes above 20000. The fee is highly affordable and gives the best education as well as best college life.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college avails a scholarship offer, that is, student whose family earns less than 5 lakhs an year, can apply for e-grant. Which reduces the fee amount. For my 5tg semester, students who applied for egrant had to pay only 1500 rs for their fees. St. Thomas is feasible for both rich and backward students for a better education. It provides a mixed surrounding, which teaches a lot about different kinds of people and to appreciate their highs and lows.

Campus Life

3.5

Extra curricular activities are the best. We have the best music band in thrissur. Western band procuring the first place in Nationals created history. We have a great Eastern band as well, which has often secured prizes till the south zome level competitions. Our college stood first in the dzone level competitions. We won the overall trophy. And we have a great sports team as well. Football, cricket, hockey, boxing, athletics, etc. Won several trophies for sports as well.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I have not been into the hostels. I live in my house as it is just 5 kms away from college. Usually, the hostel has not been given any complaints. By far the best. I have never heard anyone complaint about their stay in the hostel. Hostels provide with neat and clean toilets and food.

Alumni/Alumna

We have a huge alumni network with several indian artists who has come to college several times in order to give us a pep talk for out cultural competitions. They share their experiences and motivate us to give our best out for the competitions. Our seniors have got into Madras School of Economics. They guide us on the several examinations we have to face and the type of questions that we will be facing.

Exam Structure

We have 2 internal exams and a project or assignment assigned in every semester. Whose marks are added up with the external exam, we appear for by the end of every semester. For every subject, we have 5-10 questions of one word answers and we have 5 questions with short answers and another six questions with 6 marks each which has at least 2 questions kept optional. And we have 4 essay questions in which 2 of them are optional.

Admission

I applied through the Calicut University portal. They ask us to opt for 22 colleges around kerala. After that, every colleges started publishing their allotments, and i got into Sree Kerala Varma College by the first allotment. But i got into St. Thomas only by its 4th or 5th allotment.

Faculty

3

The faculty is brilliant. We have experienced professors as well as fresh faces for faculty. A very supportive and indeed friendly faculty. Just disappointed about the fact, that most of the teachers for undergraduates are least experienced but, too experienced in the case of examinations held around for post graduation.

The curriculum is suitable for the modern age of teaching, the way of education is well balanced with projects, assignments, presentations and also notes .we have reading assignments where the faculty members ask us to read an entire book and give our review on it.the exams are quiet moderate and in my opinion teachers should use more ai tools as a learning aid which will be more effective for the students

Placement Experience:

From the last semester pass out we a re eligible for the campus recruitment for job or placement. So many companies visit us for the interview or some checking like , hero honda , maruti suzuki etc. the main reason for it was a low amount of budget is that get from this placement maybe 15 thousand let month ect. Only the company can take the students for it so the percentage of the students who getting placement will change in every year. My plan was to get an admission in the central government University for doing master of degree in History. And try the best exam called upsc.
