Excluding VNIT and IIIT Nagpur, this is the best college in Nagpur city in terms of academics, faculty, laboratories and course curriculum. The students of any college are ultimately the ones who influence the image of the college in the society. Of the curriculum of the college is followed diligently, then definitely the students will be educated at par with the students studying in NITs.

The course curriculum is in accordance with that of the GATE exam; made sure by the regular surveys conducted by the visiting faculty from VNIT. The exam structure is a bit tedious with 3 mid-sems and an end-sem exam each semester.

The placement opportunities are pretty weak. Average packages awarded to students range from ?3.5 lpa to ?4.5 lpa. Most of the companies which recruit from this college are the ones which mass recruit.

The events conducted in the college can be classified into two categories; technical and non-technical. Technical events are conducted individually by each department in odd semester and a cumulative cultural event is held in the even semester.

The affordability of fee depends on the category which you belong, with students belonging to the General category being the highest fee payers. The fee ranges from ?1.35 lakh to ?1.2 lakh per seen for the General category students. For students belonging to SC/ST categories, the fee is about ?4000 per semester.

The scholarships provided by the college are in accordance with the guidelines outlined by the Government of India. Incentives are provided to meritorious students. The top two performers from each department in a year are leased a laptop for the next year.

Extracurricular activities conducted in the college are very few. Only a handful of students participate those few activities due to poor dissemination of information. The labs in the college are excellent and feature hi-tech instruments, especially the mechanical and ETC labs.

Alumni network of the college is not very strong. Still, they contribute substantially to the recruitment process. Still, this does not amount to much, as most of the alumni are placed in service based companies.

10 percent of the admissions are reserved for all India students, who are selected based on their JEE main scores. The rest are selected based on the colleges and branches allotted to them through the MHT-CET CAT round.

The faculty is good in the sense that they teach; as compared to other colleges where this hardly is a case. The faculty at ETC consists of 60 percent of the faculty members having completed their PhD.
