Remarks
Positive thing is that Bangalor Institute of Technology has become the best college in Visveswaraya Technological University after the top colleges left its affiliation to Visveswaraya Technical University. One bad thing is it does not have a big campus like other colleges rather it looks like a school building and canteen food is a bit on the expensive side.
Course Curriculum Overview
All major engineering courses are done.My course was mechanical engineering. In our time we had 8 units for a particular subject which covered the whole syllabus out of which we could answer any 5 in exams which were of 100 marks. Apart from this we had 3 internal exams Of 25 marks each and average of best two were added to the final score.
Placement Experience
Placement record is very good. If you are a good student from any course you will get 5-10 chances to sit in various companies mostly IT companies. Students thinking or aspiring for core companies could get 2-3 pool campus opportunity. College does not provide internship.
College Events
Our's was one of the luckiest batch. College was full of events which gradually decreased. All major festivals like Ganesh chaturthi, Ayudha puja except Holi were celebrated in the college. We had annual fest in which local stars bollywood stars used to come.We have also had Ajay devgan Emran hashmi Arjun Kapoor Alia bhatt in our campus for their movie promotions.
Fee Structure And Facilities
There are 2 fee structures one for residents of Karnataka and other for non kannadigas. For locals fee was really affordable .I guess there is some sort of scholarship also but for non kannadigas it is expensive you would need a bank's help unless you are extremely rich .
Fees and Financial Aid
There is some sort of scholarship scheme for local people of Karnataka but since I was not from Karnataka so I dont know what exactly it was. We used to get the expenditure certificate from college.That was the only help for getting education loan.
Campus Life
Labs are good. Most of the machines were present in the lab though students were not allowed to use the expensive machines. They could just watch the lab assistant perform the experiment. Lab assistants are the real boss of their respective Labs
Hostel Facilities
I had opted for hostel accommodation but I think I was the rooms were full or to be truthful hostel capacity is not of size to accommodate even half of the students studying in college. I stayed in a PG. You can find number of PG around the college.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes alumnus meets are common and many seminars are organised by them.There is a Facebook page also for the alumni and some professors are also there in that page. We have Facebook page for our fest manthan which is also followed by all the alumni.
Admission
There is an Entrance exam named COMEDK. Then after results you get to select the college of your preference during counseling and after selection there is second round of counseling and then we get admission in our selected college.
Faculty
Faculty of the college is overall good we cannot say its best or very good. There are few professors who are extremely good but they take very less number of classes. Many assistant professors are college passout some of whom are really supportive and open to new ideas while some of them are orthodox and dont listen to students at all.
