Course Curriculum Overview
As it is an autonomous college, the syllabus and exam pattern is dependent on college. The syllabus is revised every 4 years and exam is taken as two semesters per year generally one in November and one in May.
Placement Experience
The placements are always at the peak. Being one of the top colleges in Maharashtra, many companies approach us. Average salary for Comp and IT branch is around 9 lpa whereas for other branches it is around 6 lpa.
College Events
Mindspark, Zest and Regatta are three main events of the college. Mindspark being the technical festival happens in September. Zest is the sports festival of the college which happens in January whereas Regatta the unique festival is held in March in which events such as Kayaking, Rowing, punt formation, telematches and Mashaal Dance happens. It is also called as the festival of the boat club.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is around eighty thousand per annum for an open candidate. It varies according to caste for the remaining castes. And as you get a good placement in your final year, you can just cover up the fees of the college and hostel in just one year.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am an NTS scholar of 2012. So I get a scholarship of Rs. 24000 every year from them. In college, a lot of companies come for giving scholarships like Siemens, Schindler, Eaton, etc. Some give scholarships on the basis of family annual income whereas some give as per academic excellence. Interviews are held for each of them.
Campus Life
COEP is also known as College of Everything Pune. You have everything going on in the college. There are around 40 clubs in the college - technical, non technical and sports. And the college gives a budget every year to them. The extracurricular activities and sports are the best in the engineering colleges in Maharashtra.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel fee hovers around thirty thousand. Being at the heart of Pune, it is feasible. The hostels for the boys are old whereas the hostel for the girls is modern. There are 4 boys per room in boys hostel whereas there are 3 girls per room in girls hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, they do help a lot in our academic activities, sports as well as placements. You can go in and talk to any of them and they are keen to help. You have a list of them whom you can contact by phone or on social media any time and they are ready to help. Some event in the colleges are only held for alumni student. And they also sponsor a lot for the college events.
Admission
There is an exam held by Maharashtra State Board called Mht-Cet. It is generally held in month of April for all the students who are completing/completed HSC courseYou need to score above 160 in this exam to get a seat in COEP college.
Faculty
Every teacher needs at least to be a post graduate or PhD for applying in this college. The teachers are good and you can easily approach them. They teach good and you have a faculty advisor assigned to you to whom you can approach any time regarding any doubt.
