Remarks

Negative- Better academics and faculty would be appreciated. Positive- Amazing campus, Lush green and cool. Great crowd, sociable people and easy to have fun and relax in the college. Great placements. Great seniors.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

As I am currently in the 1st semester, I cannot make a thorough comment on the course curriculum. The curriculum right now is same for all branches. It is comparatively easy and not too hectic, the practical portion of the curriculum could do with a bit of improvement though. The exam structure is based on CO's or Course Outcomes. It focuses on the practical outcomes of whatever theory is taught. The mark distribution is clean and effective.

Placement Experience

5

Placements have been said to be great. The highest package being up to 31 lakhs. Core and IT branches on an average have very decent packages. Internships are also provided. Have not been a part of them, since I've only very recently joined the college.

College Events

5

There are lots of fun events at the beginning of odd semesters by the various technical clubs of the campus. They are followed by technical events. Cultural events of the college and literary events like SHABD are also very vibrant.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Both feasible or expensive based on the mode of admission. Admission through COMEDK entrance exam is expensive. Through KCET or CSAB-NEUT, it is feasible. Management is overly expensive anyway. The hostel/accomodation fees is moderate, tuition fees is also decent mostly.

Fees and Financial Aid

I do not know about many scholarships. There is a scholarship for children with a deceased parent. Else there are certain scholarships based on merit of the student. More scholarships may be there.

Campus Life

4

Extra-curriculars are the biggest asset of this college. There are numerous student run technical clubs of the college, which organise a lot of workshops and informative classes and events which cater to the choices of students in a broad manner. Technical trips are also planned to other institutes or other industrial visits. Labs are average. Sports require a lot of self effort, since there's not a major backing by the college.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is strong. The seniors are extremely helpful, and will go out of their way to help a junior. They also expect deserved respect ,naturally, and also return it in the form of great help as well as friendliness.

Admission

Through CSAB-NEUT counselling, which is a special round that happens after the JoSAA rounds. Certain colleges all around India have seats reserved for students from states in the Northeast, through CSAB-NEUT counselling, Meghalaya being one of them. I belong to Meghalaya, hence I was fortunate to avail the seat in this college.

Faculty

3.5

Average. Also there's a bit of language barrier. The explanations are not always very clear. Otherwise, most of the teachers are good and interactive and take an active part in learning experience of the students.

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Placement Experience:

Most of the students get placed from the campus placements. Students get eligible for campus placements from the fifth semester. Companies like HP, Infosys, Wipro come for recruiting and make offers from 3L per annum to 30 L per annum. Around 70 percent of the students get placed through campus placement. I plan on working for a dream company after completing my degree.

Placement Experience:

I applied to colleges like BMSIT and Sir MVIT, and I had confirmed seats there, too. I chose RNSIT because it has a better reputation for placements in my branch and the campus environment felt more welcoming. I didn't get into RVCE because my KCET rank wasn't high enough for their top branches, as the competition was very tough that year. The admission process is simple. They mainly take students through KCET and COMEDK. You need at least 45% in your 12th boards (PCM). Most students prefer KCET because the fees are lower. Once the seat is allotted through counseling, you just visit the campus, submit your documents, and pay the fees. The whole process was quite smooth and well-organized."

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.
