Remarks
College is very good and provides us with many many opportunities, but the main problem is fees, This college is very expensive. Placements are very good, but only for students of the top branch, the rest are not so good. In 2019, KIIT got the status of Imminence, provided to very few colleges, and stood out as the youngest university to get this status.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is well updated and modernised. Although we are taught C in first year in computer programming, which is outdated, but that helps us understand programming and how it works. Exams are pen and paper based. There are two main exams in a semester and various internals, the two main exams are mid semester exams and end semester exams. There are no mcqs in examinations. Correction is done online, and marks are also sent to the respective students to their respective emails, given by the authorities.
Placement Experience
Placements are very good for top branches like CSE, IT, CSSE, CSCE, with the median package being 5 lakhs, and highest being 39, given by Adobe Solutions. Many good companies like High Radius, Mu Sigma, Adobe, Amazon come to this college. KIIT promises a 100% placement guarantee, and they also stand by their promise, with no student being left behind without a job in their hands. But the placements for other branches aren't so good, and also many students are left jobless.
College Events
There are various events celebrated in in our college, like Fresher's, organised by second year students for first year students, then the various fests, and also MUN, Model United Nations where personalities like Abhish Mathew and many more do come. Many more great personalities like Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Salim Sulaiman, have visited our college. Events here are worth attending.
Fees and Financial Aid
Officially KIIT won't provide any facilities for loans for semester fees. But on the day of counseling several bank executives will be there to assist you for any type of education loan. Most banks sanctions at most 60% of your annual fees.
Campus Life
Extracurriculars are also very good in KIIT. They provide with ample opportunities to prove yourself. Various activities are conducted in the campus almost everyday, in the evenings and the campus is very lively due to it. Sports are not free, you need to pay for them, but you get a very good coach, and also all the facilities for the respective sport. Labs are also very clean, but cannot be accessed whenever we want to, we need to take permission and use only during clads hours.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel infrastructure is very good and facilities are also nice, if one faces any problem, a complaint to the respective block's warden, and it would be fixed within the week. Every day maid servants come in the mornings for regular cleaning as well, and charge nothing extra, as its included in the hostel fees.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is very strong in KIIT and they help, especially first years a lot. Although senior junior interaction is not so much in this college, but if any help is needed one can always approach a senior, and also many seniors help out their juniors with notes and question papers and also provide with various classes for students who lag behind.
Admission
I got admission through the entrance examination of KIIT, called KIITEEE. This exam is given by almost 1 lakh students, and around 3000 are selected for BTech admissions. CSE branch, which is the best in terms of placements, has a closing rank of around 3500. And students also get a scholarship is they secure a rank under 1000.
Faculty
Some of the faculty is good, whereas some are average. Average in the sense, they are knowledgeable enough, as most of them are IITians, but they lack teaching experience, because of which they are not able to deliver their full potential. But otherwise most of them are very good, and very helpful.
