Remarks

The only negative remari about this college is that ut has a very high student intake because of which the quality of students comjng here degrades drastically. In B.Tech alone there are around 4000 students admitted every year. Around 750 students bare there in my branch i.e. CSE alone.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is very much inclined to the industry needs and is up to date. There are two exams held in a semester i.e the mid semester exam of 20 marks and end semester exam of 50 marks, 30 marks are evaluated internally based on assignments, projects, class tests, exams, attendance etc.

Placement Experience

4

Yes, companies like Amazon, Reliance at about ?30000 ppo etc. do visit in 3rd year to offer internships but only to select students. Rest need to get internships from outside or do paid internship. The placement is overall good. Many companies like Adobe, Directi, Samsung R&D, Delloitte, High Radius, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Infosys l, IBM etc visit the college every year. The average package of the whole B.Tech was around 4.5 lpa where as for CSE it was around 5.5-6 lpa. The highest package offered was 39 lpa.

College Events

5

There are many events celebrated in the college throughout the year with the main being KIITFEST organised around December. It is one of the biggest fests of Eastern India. Apart from these there are also many Technical and other fests going on all round the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is very much expensive in this college. For a 4 year B.Tech you need to splash out around 18-20 lacs in total. The fees structure per semester is as follows :- 1. Tution Fees :- ?175000. 2. Hostel Fees :- varies between ?28000-70000 based on your room choice. 3. Mess Fees :- ?17500.

Fees and Financial Aid

The top 1000 rank holders of the KIITEE exam get a good amount of scholarship, they need to pay about ?4-5 lacs less than others. Also there are good amount of scholarships available for the top 3 rank holders in a semester and for people who have low family income.

Campus Life

5

There are all sorts of extra curricular activities available here. In fact our college is famous for nurturing many sportspersons and it highly supports extra curricular activities. There are seperate football and cricket stadiums, gyms, basketball courts, tennis courts etc. They have one of the best sports and extra curricular facilities among all the colleges available in all over India.

Hostel Facilities

3

The rooms are quite well maintained although the mess food is horrible. There was a cockroach found in the dishes of the first year hostel. Hygiene is next to zero in the mess. The food is also of very bad quality.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is realy helpful. There is no need to worry about any sort of ragging. It is not a thing that happens in KIIT. The seniors are really helpful and always ready to help you whenever in need.

Admission

To get admission in KIIT you have to appear for a common entrance exam called KIITEE. I appeared for the KIITEE B.Tech paper which is of the exact same pattern as the JEE Mains paper, the difficulty level is however of 12th Boards level. Post examination if you are eligible for councelling(i.e. less than 30000 rank) you will be getting your Rank Card and councelling invitation letter.

Faculty

4

The faculty is okayish overall. Most of them are highly qualified but many of them lack good teaching skills. If you come to KIIT you better not rely on the faculties to understand the subject. Nonetheless there are some extremely talented professors also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The technical background and future influenced me to choose this course. The preparation for real-world applications or further academic pursuits are average. Theres no fair improvement needed in the course curriculum and teaching methods. The frequency of the exams are 2 sem exams and 4 quiz in class exams. The timings for sem exams are 3 hours while for quiz tests its 30 minutes. The difficulty level is average of all the exams

From 3rd year itself they make you industry ready through their specific programs llike internships, seminars, etc. Companies like L&T and Accenture are the leading recruiters here. Also there are companies like Amazon or GOOGLE as well. The approx percentage including off and on campus is more than 90%. My plans are basically to explore my entrepreneurship skills.

Placement Experience:

Placement record is not so good.. companies like Microsoft and Google have blacklisted KIIT due to poor performance and mismanagement by the KIIT in providing with the right candidates. KIIT shortlists students in basis of multiple tests taken on platforms like AMCAT and on that basics provides the profiles of best performing candidates to the companies invited for campus hirings regardless of the field and job specifications and requirements, so basically KIIT has a very below average performance Training and Placement Cell as they lack decision making and management skills to segregate candidates for hirings according to their skills and not by their general scores and CGPA. NOTE: Companies have shown least interest in KIIT for last 2 years and the poor performance of previous batches and mismanagement by KIIT authorities. KIIT promises 100% placements but that is actually far from reality.
