Remarks

This college is very good for Engineering covering the overall aspects. Though now 90% domicile has been brought in, so for Students outside West Bengal it will be really tough to get in. But apart from that, in terms of Teaching to College Environment to Placements, it is a very suitable college for any Engineering aspirant.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is very exhaustive and covers the theory almost upto a very good level which is the reason behind good placements and a top class research work carried out in our college. Two class tests are taken comprising each of 30 marks and the average of these both is considered. Then the final semester exam is of 100 marks from which 70% of the obtained marks is considered. So totally each subject is evaluated on 100 marks.

Placement Experience

4

The placement opportunities are quite good. There is almost 80-90% placement in all the branches. The packages depend upon the branch and the company arriving for placement. Job opportunities open both for fixed jobs after graduation, and for paid internships before that. During placements we can get inernships in different companies and institutes. Our college mainly provides research internships, and the stipend depends upon the research topic and the professor you are working under. Many of them are only for training purposes and experience gaining.

College Events

4.5

There are several events which take place starting from Techfest, TedX, MUN, Women's Conclave, Cultural Fests(3), Dance Fests(2), and many other events including Reunions which are organised Departmental wise.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is the minimum you can get for pursuing Engineering in any college. It is just ?10,000 for 4 years of Bachelors of Engineering Graduation. So, if you are planning to get a good return on investment, it can't be better feasible than this.

Fees and Financial Aid

As I haven't availed any kind of Scholarship or Loan from my college, so I don't know the details about any of those. But still I know that many types of Scholarships are given by the college to the needy students on the basis of their merit. Loans and waivers are also given to students if reported to the authority.

Campus Life

3.5

There are many extracurricular activities happening, starting from labs which vary from department to department, and then in sports we have Cricket, Badminton, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Basketball, Volley Ball, Carrom, Mountaineering, etc. covering our campus. So, overall we have many opportunities to apply our hand in these.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No, I haven't opted for Hostel. So, I don't know much about the facilities in there. But I have been once or twice there, and as heard from friends, the mess is good and the infrastructure is moderate with the new hostels having much better infrastructure than the old ones. The normal facilities of wifi, playing courts, etc. are readily available in all the hostels as per my knowledge.

Alumni/Alumna

We have a vast Alumni network, and this helps many a times during any requirements in any company when you can directly call them and get your purpose done. And about seniors, it can be better than this. The senior-junior bonding becomes very strong right from the Freshers' when the first proper interaction takes place and after that for any need only a call away they remain at any time of the day. They are very much helpful and even if they can't they will give you contacts of those who can help.

Admission

First I gave WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination). After that the results got out which gave me a rank. Then during counselling process, I selected my desired colleges and the branches of my interest. After 3 rounds of counselling and a Spot Round, I got the Chemical Engineering branch in Jadavpur University.

Faculty

4

All the faculty are well qualified with many of them also graduating from elite schools and hence the educational qualification background is very high. Also, the knowledge level is quite deep as we can see from the classroom teachings to any doubt solving. Overall, the faculty is quite good and comparable to any other top class institute.

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).
