Remarks
The extra curricular activities are not that good but placements , peer group , placements are pretty amazing. The academics are also not that bad. The canteens are not good but they are edible. Overall NSUT is a good college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is up to date. It was updated in 2016. The exam structure consists of one mid term and one end term examination. The total marks are divided into 3 parts for non practical exams and 5 parts for subjects with practical exams. Practical: 15 mid sems + 40 end sems + 15 internal + 30 practical (15 internal + 15 external). Non Practical: 25 mid sems + 25 internals + 50 end sems
Placement Experience
Placements are the best part of NSUT. All the big brands like Google Amazon, Microsoft and Samsung etc come here to hire students for full time roles as well as for internships. I myself have bagged an internship at Samsung R&D Bangalore. The stipend ranges from 15k to 1.5 lakhs.
College Events
There are a number of festivals in my college. The annual cultural fest Moksha has been there for over 2 decades takes place in even semester. The annual technical fest Innovision and the annual intra College cultural fest Resonanz take place in odd semester. There are a lot of small fests organised by different college societies as well like the finnace fest Consililum and the debating fest Colloquium.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As it is a government institute the fee structure is feasible. The institute fee is around 1.5 lakhs with 10% increase every year. When i started my college the fees was 1.35 lakhs and now it is 1.6 lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are student loans available by SBI- State bank of India. There are other loans available as well. There are scholarships for economically weaker section students as well. Also the top 5% performers get there tution fees back.
Campus Life
Labs are not that good but except a few. The sports facilities are also not at par with top colleges. There is a Gym on campus but the equipments are old and not of much use. These are some of the negatives i see.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior junior interaction is pretty good. The alumi network is also strong as the institute is more than 35 years old. The senior students are of great help. This is one of the best things about the College.
Admission
Through an entrance exam called JEE MAIN. It is national level exam which consists of 90 questions from maths, physics and chemistry. On the basis of the performance of that test people get a rank and through that rank one can get admission to NSUT.
Faculty
The old faculty is quite good but most of the subjects are taught by guest faculty or Phd students. I don't have a good image of the professors as most of them don't come to classes and what they teach is not that much helpful.
