I did my Bachelors in Hotel Administration from the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (IHMCT). I had a lot of fun at the college. The college had a very good placement record. Academics and the campus life is also good

The course covers all the elements of management, operation, and technological aspect of hotel management domain. The course was divided into 6 semesters, each consisting of both theory and practical classes

IHM Kovalam is well known for their placement. About 80% of the students passing out from the college is getting a job from campus interview itself, about 35 group of hotels are coming to the hotel for placement. Highest salary is given by the 4 season group of hotel which is about 85 thousand for an entry leave job. Other frequent recruiters include hotel groups such as Taj ITC, Oberoi, Mariot etc. and food outlets like KFC, Dominos, etc.

CAT A’ Fest, which is a two-day cultural fest celebrates the inter-house competitions among students from different disciplines. We also used to celebrate Sports day, annual day and teachers day.

Fee for one year was 112,000 INR. The facilities provided includes Library.

Our college provides scholarship to the students belonging to the reserved category, i.e. SC, ST, OBC, etc

The hostel facility is available for the students from the outstation. The hostel has a capacity of accommodating 180 boys and 32 girls. The infrastructure of the hostel is not good though, even the food is not bad

The National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology organises the joint entrance exam for admission to the B. Sc program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration. The exam was a pretty basic one. On the basis of exam and the academic details provided by the candidate, a merit list is prepared

The teachers are supportive in the college and help us to achieve more in our life. The library in the college is very much help full and it will surely boost up your knowledge. Practical classes are very good where high quality chef will guide you to be perfect. And other departments like housekeeping, food and beverage service are also too good.
