My College Life

I would say It is one of the best college in the country in terms of students it has in each branch of B Tech and the placements it gives. But College needs to improve on its facilities staff. Most of them are excellent, some are good. But some staff need to be trained a lot they are not fit to teach.

The college tries it's best to updates it's curriculum as per the industry demands. Even b tech course has papers related to machine learning, big data, android lab, and others. Exams are conducted 2 times per semester. Mid semester consists of 25 marks. Assignment consist of 15 marks and end semester exam consists of 60 marks.

Placements provided by University is the best in the country, more than 100 companies visit campus every year to hire around 4000 B.Tech students. Some people get internship in the third year from companies like optum, endurance, informatica, VMware so on, but since there are a lot of students everyone don't get internship in 3rd year, so some goes for off campus summer internship after 3rd year, and the others get internship from college ranging from 3-12 months in 4th year before getting converted to full time employee. I got off campus internship as android developer intern in a startup with stipend of 20000 in third year, there I got PPO, but I rejected it because of some reasons. Then I got internship from college at HP Inc. for 6 months at 25000 stipend and now I am a full timer.

Sports day is celebrated, all national and international conference got organised. I should say the college host all the events you can think off, it can be sports, cultural, educational. College gives 10 days holidays for Durga puja celebration.

Fee structure is expensive.for 2015 batch B. tech students has tution fees of RS 110000 per semester and hostel fees, for AC hostel- RS 40000 for three seater and for non AC hostel it's close to 30000 for three seater per semester.

Yes college gives scholarship to deserving students. who has either came under 500 rank in KIITEE as well as to those who had scored exceptional CGPA in semesters. Load facility is provided by banks for the college admissions.

Students took part in various clubs activites. they can take part in inter-college and intra college competition of various sports. The labs are the coolest place to learn and enjoy, see what you are capable off.

AC hostels are good, I will give 9/10 in rating to them but for Non AC hostel, as they are less maintained and clean so I will give 6/10 for them. The mess food is good. On festivals hostels cook special food which is more better and tastier then normal days.

For me I didn't asked for help so I didn't get one because they are less reachable. They are some alumini who are reachable on LinkedIn to some students who knew them beacuse of their family relationships or they became friend before they pass-out from college, and students who took help from alumini they got placed earlier.

Every year KIIT conduct international level test for admissions. I got the admission through the same exam called KIITEE. I got a rank of 7455. Then they called the students on different dates for counselling and booking of seats in particular course as per the rank in KIITEE.

The college has a mix of excellent, good and bad facilities. Most of them lies in excellent or good category but a very few of them are too bad. Since the students are hard working they are able to cope up with the few bad faculties.
