Review before you take a step

Curriculum is really good. It is structed very well and the subjects are also upto the mark. First year consists of subjects like anatomy, physiology, microbiology, physics, IT, pharmacology, biochemistry etc with some additional subjects like disaster management, soft skills, personality development etc. Exams are held semester wise and they have minimum 3 written papers and external and internal vivas.

There are no placements as such after the completion of course. But students can apply to various places according to tehir areas of interest. Like hospitals, clinics, industries, research organizations etc. Yes we have internships provided by college. We had one week of lectures and one week of hospital training which gives a good exposure of the practical training. There is no stipend. But the people in hospital are helpful and teach you depending upon your interest to learn.

There are some events like Blood donation camp, Symbifit, recreational activities like Panache in first year, visits to conferences and SIHS own conferences Symtech. There is traditional or ethnic day at the end of each year. There are different community excercises of play, skit, poetry on topics of social awareness.

Fee is on the little expensive side. Which is about 1.3 lakh per annum. And fee is given semester wise. The fee doesn't include food and other transport facilities. Fee includes access to all books of library and access to computer lab where there is internet connection.

Scholarship was given to two top scorers in the first year and also it is given to the top scorer at the end of the programme along with a gold medal. Students who are eligible for other scholarship can inquire in the institute and avail the benefit. Alos there is a summer student exchange programme and related scholarship that can be inquired about the details and eligibilty.

There is a gym facility in the campus which is free of cost and can be accessed by all. There is a computer lab as well and also a clinical lab which has a Matti man on which various procedures can be performed. Thefe is a volleyball team and various other sports event take place every year. Intercollege tournaments are also there.

Students and seniors are helpful. Few alumni also guide about the future prospects of the course and what can be done after bachelor's. And they provide books that they don't use. Many of my batchmates took books and previous years papers from seniors.

So the admission happens in two stages. First is a written test called PI-WAT and second is Interview. Piwat is easy and consists of GK, basic sciences, maths, ligocal and reasoning eyc. And then the student has to go through basic computer test for MS office and basic knowledge of making presentations. The interview is more about your achievements and your goal after the completion of course.
