Remarks
No bad remarks of course my review headline itself states "best college experience" I would love to go back to college and relive those days over and over again. DO not miss on the opportunity if you get admission in SIHS. You will definitely learn a whole new level to your corporate experience and aspects of your specialization.
Entrance Preview
SNAP - 49.5 Selected this college because of it's name, it was the only college among the best ones in India which provided a combined course on Healthcare and Hospital management.
Course Curriculum Overview
It gave a wholesome view and details on the specialization the internship which was part of the curriculum was very rewarding in terms of knowledge gained by students. Getting a good outlook of the corporate world well before we stepped into it was the good part. The course structure was organized and helped gain understanding of all key areas in healthcare and hospital industry.
Internships Opportunities
The stipend depends on the kind of Company we did our internship in but it ranged from 5-15 k per month.
Placement Experience
There was always 100% placements from SIHS. for all the 8 batches that have passed out. Job opportunities depends mostly on the healthcare market, but the kind of companies that came in for placements was a very good variety.
College Events
The annual meet "Panache" was the most awaited function every year it included inter-college (SIU) dance performances, sports and various other activities. The "Blood donation camp" was a pedigree of SIU as well.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Considering the reputation of the college, the faculty and the course experience, the fee structure was moderate it was approximately 2 lac per year at that time. (Excluding hostel fees).
Fees and Financial Aid
There is a small scholarship given by SIU to all the batch toppers in the entrance exams.
Campus Life
Campus life is good SIHS in particular does not have a huge campus, but teh other SIU colleges do have there is a gym inside campus and Auditorium there is good mixture of both genders.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities were pretty good the hostels were 2/3 sharing. You need to apply well in advance or rather as soon as your admission is confirmed you should reserve a seat in the hostel. the hostels provide good food (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner), all 7 days a week (Except Sunday Dinner) Cause you definitely need a break once in a while, plus the food gets a little monotonous after 1 point. In case you plan to stay outside hostel, the average rent for a good/decent place nearby is approximately 6-10 k/ month.
Alumni/Alumna
We did have a few alumni come and meet us or talk us through the course and the placements few of them even referred us in their companies for internships or placements. Personally, it was only a learning experience and how to deal with new corporate world from the seniors.
Exam Structure
The exams were very well spread out, giving us enough time to work on subjects well before hand the 1st semester though was hectic because of the number of subjects we had and the exams being back to back. But this is usually the case in every college, and that's where the students learn time, stress, schedule management, etc. Also, this was the most fun part when we just started with college.
Faculty
Having Faculty from the Defence background, discipline was always maintained and at the same time we were even taught how to have fun in the work you do they had vast knowledge of the subjects they taught us, and we still look up to them when we have any difficulties.
