I think I have a chance for CSE for NIT Durgapur, IIEST Shibpur, BIT Mesra, and IT in IIIT Allahabad. My priority is good faculty, and personal development rather than placements.

If you have IIIT- Allahabad as an option, then you shouldn’t think about IIEST Shibpur which is a West Bengal Engineering College ranking after Jadavpur University through WBJEE exams. You should then go in for IIIT Allahabad where you can develop your personality as well as your skills and knowledge. If you are interested in IT or CS, you should definitely go for IIIT Allahabad.

Considering your priority, your college preferences should be:

1. IT at IIIT Allahabad
2. CS at IIEST Shibpur
3. CS at BIT Mesra
4. CS at NIT Durgapur

IT at IIIT Allahabad is amazing. The coding culture is great. It’s even becoming a better version of itself every passing day. Moreover, IIIT Allahabad is totally dedicated to CS and IT, the coding culture, technology, enthusiasm, etc. are definitely better than the rest. The faculty is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.

CS at IIEST Shibpur because it is budding at a momentous rate. A few years ago, it was a state government college. After becoming an INI, it has been growing rapidly. This year’s cutoff has become so much better due to their performance and development. The faculty of IIEST is well known for its research and development. It would be a very memorable experience for you there. IIEST Shibpur being one of the oldest institutes has got a great alumni network that would help you in your career.

CS at BIT Mesra is a well-known institute. The placements and faculty are great. Research isn’t such a great subject over here. Personal development is good. Some people might even argue that BIT Mesra should be above IIEST or vice versa but IIEST is being funded by the Central Government. Being an INI has its own perks. But BIT Mesra is additionally an excellent option.

NIT Durgapur has been performing quite well recently. But as far as the growth is concerned, it isn’t up to the mark. You will be getting the advantage of the NIT tag but the faculty is not the best. Research and environment could be better here, but if you want to be called a NITian, it is a good option as well.
