IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Textile Technology offers solid placements with over 90% of students getting hired, but the highest packages are lower compared to IIT Madras. In contrast, IIT Madras's Computer Science and Engineering program boasts impressive placement stats, with top packages reaching up to 2.5 crore per annum and an average of 20 lakh, making it a hotspot for tech talent. If you're leaning towards a tech career with high earning potential, IIT Madras is clearly the better option. However, if you're passionate about textiles and prefer a less intense curriculum, IIT Delhi could be a good fit. Ultimately, it depends on your career goals and interests.

Hey there! Congrats on getting selected for IIT! It's definitely tempting to get into one of the top 4 IITs rather than a good discipline at a lower-ranked college. Gaining admission to a premier institute comes with its own perks, such as: Good exposure, Meeting super-ambitious people, and Delhi-specific advantages: Excellent coaching facilities for IAS, IES, and of course, a vibrant city life!. If you choose a strong discipline like Computer Science (since you mentioned it) and put in serious effort in college (just like you did during JEE), you can secure a great job. While job prospects can vary, if you opt for Textile Technology at IIT Delhi, the chances of landing a good job (10 LPA+) are significantly lower unless you excel in some way (like pursuing a minor in CS). Regarding an MBA, you have at least 2 years to consider it. At this point, it's tough to define your long-term career path. Even if you have a direction, preparing for an MBA or CAT requires dedication, and in my opinion, it’s not dependent on the college you attend. My personal advice: Go for CS! P.S. From experience at IIT Delhi, don't fall into the trap of...

Nowadays, many students pick up coding skills while studying in various branches. IIT Delhi offers more exposure than NIT Delhi, especially if you focus on coding while pursuing Textile Technology. Consider these factors that can significantly impact your career: Your discipline toward your goal, Alumni network, Exposure to grow quickly, and Brand name. If you can enhance your programming skills while studying Textile Technology, then go for IIT Delhi. Choosing NIT Delhi might mean less structured learning; you'll need to take the initiative to learn on your own, and you may miss out on the benefits of the factors mentioned above. The choice is yours. Remember: A metallurgy student can become a tech leader! :).

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Textile Technology and IIT Madras's B.Tech in Computer Science both have their merits, but when it comes to fees and ROI, IIT Madras stands out. The average package in IIT Madras for Computer Science is around 20 LPA with top placements at over 2.5 crore, which significantly outweighs the textile course offerings at IIT Delhi, where the placement details are less robust. Although IIT Delhi has a good faculty-to-student ratio and excellent campus life, the higher fees of around 13-14 lakhs make it less attractive if you are seeking a strong financial return. If you're inclined towards a high-paying tech career, IIT Madras is the smarter financial choice, while IIT Delhi may be better for those passionate about textiles or civil services.

Honestly, I’d lean towards B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Madras over B.Tech in Textile Technology at IIT Delhi. The placement opportunities are significantly better at IIT Madras, with over 90% of students getting placed and some companies like Google and Amazon coming in. While IIT Delhi has a solid curriculum and campus life, the focus on textile technology might limit your options compared to the versatility of a computer science degree. Plus, IIT Madras has a vibrant campus culture with numerous extracurricular activities, which can enrich your overall experience. So, if you’re looking for a broad career path and dynamic opportunities, go for IIT Madras; if you have a passion for textiles and want to pursue that niche, then IIT Delhi could be your choice.
