University of Jabalpur ‘Forget’ to Conduct Examination Despite Issuing Datesheet and Admit Card

New Delhi: Rani Durgavati University has alledgely ‘forgot’ to conduct the examination for M.Sc in Computer Science for the students of first semester scheduled for March 5, 2024

Earlier, Rani Durgavati University (RDVV), Jabalpur had issued the datesheet and admit cards for the exam around 20 days ago.

"The admit cards were issued to students for the exam that was scheduled to be held from Tuesday (March 5). When the students reached the university on Tuesday morning, they were informed that there is no examination and even the university didn't prepare the question papers," said the students.

The university had released the time table of MSc Chemistry Third Semester, Computer Science First Semester and Computer Science Third Semester 2023-24 on February 14, 2024. The examinations of all three courses were to be held from February 21 to March 13, 2024 from 8 am to 11 am.

According to the time table, the paper of 'Computer Organization and Assembly Language' subject of MSc first semester was scheduled to be held on March 5, 2024. The students had also received the admit cards. Candidates from other districts including Jabalpur reached the university at 8 am on Tuesday morning. When the students reached the university, they were informed that there is no examination and the university did not even prepare the question papers.

The students protested against the misconduct on behalf of the university by ,marching blindfolded to the Vice Chancellor’s Office. The university vice chancellor RK Verma held a meeting with head of the department and met the students.

"An inquiry has been initiated in the matter as the exam controller said the exam has been postponed but how did they forget to inform college and students about it. The action will be taken against the responsible officers after probe report”, he added.

NSUI alleges that if the papers were cancelled, it should have been informed to all the students to whom admission cards were issued earlier. However, the university did not do so because of which the students had to face problems. A total of 10 students were going to appear in this examination.

NSUI organization leader Sachin Rajak said , "This is a serious case of negligence of university administration. How can they forget the date sheet and other necessary arrangements require to conduct the exam. The students studied hard to appear in the exam but they were made fool. It is a matter of not a small school or college but of a prestigious university."
