Assam CAT 2026 Law Admission Registrations Open Till May 18; Exam May 31

Gauhati University has opened online registration for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 for admission to 5-year integrated law programs. Candidates can apply through the official Samarth admission portal at gauhatiadmission.samarth.edu.in from May 8 to May 18, 2026. The entrance examination will be conducted on May 31, 2026, in offline mode.

The Gauhati University CAT 2026 is being conducted for admission to B.A. LL.B., B.Com. LL.B., and B.B.A. LL.B. programs across law colleges affiliated to universities in Assam (except Dibrugarh University). Candidates must pass the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board to be eligible. The application fee is Rs. 1,500, which must be paid through the online payment gateway during registration.

For CAT 2026 eligibility, candidates belonging to the General category must secure at least 45% marks or above in the qualifying examination. Candidates from the OBC/MOBC category are required to obtain a minimum of 42% marks, while SC/ST candidates must secure at least 40% marks to be eligible for admission.

How to Apply for Assam CAT 2026?

• Candidates must register on the official Samarth admission portal to apply for CAT 2026.
• Visit httpsgauhatiadmission.samarth.edu.in and click on "New Registration" to create an account.
• Enter your basic details including name, date of birth, email, and mobile number.
• After registration, log in to fill the application form with educational and personal information.

Candidates need to upload scanned copies of their photograph (less than 500 KB) and signature (less than 500 KB) during registration. Educational documents and category certificates (if applicable) must also be uploaded, each not exceeding 1,024 KB. Ensure all documents are clear and legible before uploading to avoid rejection.

Assam CAT 2026 Admit Card Download Process

• Admit cards for CAT 2026 will be generated on May 28, 2026, and made available on the official admission portal.
• Candidates can download their admit cards by logging into their accounts on gauhatiadmission.samarth.edu.in using their registration credentials.
• Verify all details on the admit card carefully, including name, roll number, exam date, time, and center location.

Candidates must carry their admit card and a valid photo ID (Aadhar, Passport, or Driving License) to the examination center on May 31, 2026. Arrive at the center at least 30 minutes before the scheduled exam time.

Follow all instructions provided by the invigilators and remain silent during the examination. Mobile phones and electronic devices are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
