Dr. Neha is Ph.D. in Natural Products from University of Rajasthan with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry in different institutes. She is presently working as Assistant Professor and acting HOD of the Department of Zoology, Life Sciences, in DPG Degree College, Gurugram. She has published 14 research papers, book chapters in reputed journals. The main area of research interest is Biochemical analysis and natural product research. Both UG and PG are from the University of Rajasthan. Dr. Neha is Scientific Reviewer to the Journal of medical pharmaceutical and allied sciences and Editorial board member in International Journal of Ecology and Environmental Sciences. She has acted as External practical examiner in Rajasthan university and Manav Rachna International university. She has experience as a paper setting examiner in Plant biotechnology for Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University. She has Supervised 15 M.Sc Projects and has experience of conducting Hands- on-training and Seminars at college level. She has been actively participating in various Seminars/Symposia/Conferences/FDPs and workshops since she joined the PhD programme. She has been awarded first prize in oral as well as poster presentations during these scientific meets.

Ques. You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

Ans. As a HOD with a strong affinity for the research domain, my connection with the education sector is driven by several key factors. Firstly, education provides a platform for continuous learning and intellectual growth. It allows me to explore new frontiers of knowledge, engage in cutting-edge research, and contribute to the advancement of my field. The education sector offers an environment where I can inspire and mentor the next generation of scholars and researchers. Interacting with students and witnessing their growth and development is immensely fulfilling. Their curiosity, enthusiasm, and fresh perspectives constantly invigorate my own passion for learning and research. Moreover, being connected to the education sector allows me to stay abreast of the latest developments and advancements in my field. Through collaborations with colleagues and participation in academic conferences, workshops, and seminars, I have the opportunity to exchange ideas, engage in meaningful discussions, and expand my network of like-minded professionals. This exchange of knowledge and experiences fuels my own research interests and keeps me updated with the latest trends and breakthroughs.

By fostering a sense of belonging and ensuring that every student feels valued and heard, I aim to create a safe space for learning and growth. I strongly believe in the power of mentorship, and I actively engage with my students on an individual basis. I make myself approachable and available to address their concerns, provide guidance, and offer academic support. Overall, my relationship with the students of our college is characterized by open communication, support, mentorship, and a genuine interest in their success and well-being. By establishing a strong connection with them, I aim to inspire and motivate them to reach their full potential, both academically and personally. It is immensely gratifying to witness their growth, achievements, and the lasting impact we can have on each other's lives.

Ques. What are the most important functions in the role that you play in your institute?

Ans. Primarily, I share my knowledge of Zoology with the students of our institute. Also, as the manager of the department, I am committed to creating a positive and productive work environment where faculty members feel valued, supported, and comfortable. By fostering open communication, providing professional development opportunities, and addressing their needs, I strive to build a cohesive and motivated team that can effectively contribute to the success of the department and the institute as a whole. I have to take multiple meetings with them and come to a resolution if needed.

Ques. Any suggestions/ messages that you would like to give to the current youth?

Ans. First and foremost, it is essential for students to be concentrated and focused on their career goals. In today's fast-paced and competitive world, students often find themselves juggling multiple responsibilities and interests. However, to truly excel and make significant progress in their chosen field, it is crucial for them to prioritize their career aspirations. While it is natural for students to have varied interests and engage in diverse experiences, they must learn to prioritize their actions and make informed choices. Prioritization varies from student to student, as their career aspirations, personal circumstances, and individual strengths and weaknesses differ. Some students may prioritize academic excellence, investing significant time and effort in their studies to achieve outstanding grades and academic recognition.
