21st March 2018, Hyderabad: ICFAI Business School is Dr. Debapratim Purkayastha was recognized as one of India's top faculty members at the ‘Faculty Research Awards’ event held on March 20 in New Delhi. Union Minister of Human Resource Development Mr. Prakash Javadekar presented the awards.

Top researchers from multiple disciplines, ranging from Management to Engineering to Medicine, were awarded for their contributions in the field of academic research, in the event.  The ‘Faculty Research Awards' are constituted by Careers360 to recognize the efforts of India’s brightest minds in the field of academic research. Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE was the Guest of Honor at the event.

Dr. Purkayastha was recognized for his contribution to the Management domain through his case research. Over the past decade, he has won more than three dozen international case method awards including the highly prestigious 'Outstanding Contribution to the Case Method' Award from the UK-based The Case Centre and is also The Case Centre's No. 1 bestselling author for 2016 and 2017.

While receiving the award, Dr. Purkayastha, said, “Being recognized as one of India's top faculty members, cutting across over 20 disciplines, is very special indeed! I thank the organizers and at the same time would like to say that I am indebted to ICFAI for giving me and our other faculty members a high degree of academic freedom to pursue our research interests and thus promote innovation."
