Key Highlights
Ques. Is GITAM Hyderabad a good choice if I'm worried about the commute and daily routine as a day scholar?
Ans. Yes, GITAM Hyderabad can work as a choice if you’re thinking of being a day scholar, but the daily commute could be tough depending on how far you live. The college offers bus transport routes from many parts of Hyderabad which helps day scholars get to campus and back, but the campus is relatively far from the city centre, so travel can take a long time and feel tiring every day for some students. Many current students say the commute can be long and exhausting, especially with early morning buses and traffic, so if your travel time is short (about an hour or less) it’s more manageable, but if you live much farther it might be hard to keep up with daily routine.
Ques. How's the academic pressure and grading at GITAM Hyderabad—does it really mess with your mental health like I've heard?
Ans. Most students at GITAM Hyderabad say the academic workload and grading are manageable if you stay consistent and study regularly, but it’s not super easy or stress-free — there is pressure from assignments, internals, attendance, and exams, and many people feel it sometimes affects their confidence or stress levels. Some reviews describe rules changing mid-semester, strict attendance, and sudden evaluation changes that have frustrated students and hurt confidence, which can impact mental well-being if you’re not prepared or supported. Others say you can do fine with steady effort and the exams aren’t very tough if you keep up with work, but fairness and communication from faculty can vary, and stress can build up if you fall behind or don’t manage time well.
Ques. What's the real deal with campus life and events at GITAM Hyderabad—is it all fun or just distractions?
Ans. Campus life at GITAM Hyderabad is fairly active and enjoyable, with clubs, fests, sports, and cultural events happening throughout the year, so it’s not boring at all. These activities give students a break from studies, help them make friends, and learn skills outside the classroom. That said, they’re not forced, so if you stay focused, they don’t really distract you from academics. How fun or useful campus life feels mostly depends on how much you choose to participate, you can enjoy the events or ignore them and focus on studies.
Ques. Should I join GITAM Hyderabad for BBA or something non-tech, considering the fees and placements?
Ans. If you’re considering BBA or a non-tech course at GITAM Hyderabad, it can be an okay option but you should think carefully about fees versus placements. The campus, exposure, and activities are good, but placements for BBA are mostly average, and many students prefer doing an MBA after graduation instead of relying only on campus jobs. Since the fees are quite high for a non-tech course, it’s worth it mainly if you want overall exposure and plan higher studies later; if your main goal is a strong, high-paying job right after BBA, you may want to compare with other colleges before deciding.
Ques. How is the tech and lab infrastructure for practical learning at GITAM Hyderabad?
Ans. GITAM Hyderabad has satisfactory infrastructure for practical learning. CSE and ECE labs are kept updated with good hardware and licensed software on a regular basis. There are AI/ML and IoT labs for higher-level learning. Students state that although the core engineering labs (such as Mechanical) are operational, some equipment might be old and requires updates. Nevertheless, for the majority of project work and practicals, students find the facilities adequate.
