IBS Hyderabad Admission 2026 FAQs

Ques. If a candidate does not secure admission at IBS Hyderabad, which other IBS campus would be the next best option to consider?

Ans. If a candidate does not secure admission at IBS Hyderabad, the next best options would typically be other IBS campuses. The preferred order is:

  • IBS Mumbai – Offers excellent corporate exposure due to its location in India’s financial hub.
  • IBS Gurgaon (Delhi-NCR) – Provides good placement opportunities with proximity to many MNCs.
  • IBS Bangalore – Known for IT and consulting placements and a growing reputation.
  • IBS Pune – Offers a balanced academic environment and consistent placement support.
  • Other campuses like IBS Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Dehradun, and Jaipur can also be considered, though they have smaller batches and developing placement networks.

Ques. Can students with work experience skip IBSAT and apply directly?

Ans. No, while work experience adds weight during the selection process, it does not exempt a candidate from either the entrance exam or MP/PI evaluation requirement. Only candidates with valid scores in CAT/ XAT/ NMAT/ GMAT can bypass IBSAT and move directly to the Micro Presentation and Personal Interview rounds.

Ques. Can students apply to multiple IBS campuses with a single IBSAT score?

Ans. Yes, students can apply to multiple IBS campuses using a single IBSAT score. The IBSAT score is valid for all 9 IBS campuses. IBS Hyderabad: 4 Answered Questions

Is admission to IBS Hyderabad wastage of money?

Himani Daryani
Pratik ParikhLives in Bangalore

I'm not going to say it's a waste of money. How good of a return you can get from college rests more on how serious you are about it. Again, I'd like to bring up what I think are some important points about college.

Using a general case, you can expect to earn between 30,000 and 45,000 rupees per month after you finish your MBA. Few stay unemployed or get jobs that pay less than $30,000 per month, and few get more than $40,000 per month.

About 1200 people are in each group, and in business school, that number is very important when most things are taken into account.

Most people are given the chance to work in sales.

Start-ups are a common place for students to do their jobs. Most students get between 0 and 10,000 Rupees per month as a stipend.

Overall, if your CAT score is less than 65%le, it may be a good way to learn.

I have 2 years of work experience and I have got admission to IBS Hyderabad. Should I join? Is it good?

Saija LuthraStudied at IBS Hyderabad

To make an informed decision, you need to analyze your future prospects. Consider where you see yourself two years from now, or, if money is a primary concern for you, estimate how much you will earn in two years.

The average package offered by IBS Hyderabad is 6 lakhs. However, if you have a couple of years of experience and are in the top 10th percentile of your batch, there is a good chance you could earn 7-8 lakhs. In this case, enrolling in IBS Hyderabad would be a viable option if you don't see yourself earning a similar salary within two years.

Furthermore, you should evaluate your ability to gain admission to a better business school such as an IIM. If you have the potential to do so, it would be a wise decision to invest your efforts into pursuing this opportunity. However, if you really believe that you are not in that league, enrolling in IBS Hyderabad would still be a viable option, as discussed in the second paragraph.

How do I join in IBS Hyderabad?

Hardik NagarPCMBA in Marketing, ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad (Graduated 2018)

Getting admitted to ICFAI Business School Hyderabad is relatively easier compared to other MBA colleges. To gain admission, you will need to possess average aptitude skills. The first step is to appear for the IBSAT, which is conducted by IBS for all its campuses. The exam is relatively easy and can be cleared with decent learning and regular practice of aptitude for not more than 3 months. Additionally, you can also apply to IBS through other MBA exam scores, but IBSAT is easier and more widely accepted.

Based on your performance in the IBSAT, you will receive an invitation for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD-PI) at the IBS Hyderabad campus.

During the GD-PI, you have the opportunity to showcase your communication skills, domain knowledge, general affairs, and intent for pursuing an MBA. If you perform well in the GD-PI, you will have a good chance of getting admitted to IBS Hyderabad. Although there may be other ways to get admitted to IBS Hyderabad, appearing for the IBSAT and performing well in the GD-PI is the most straightforward method.

What are the chances of getting into IBS Hyderabad with a 71.1 percentile score after GD PI?

Samar SinghB Com from Hansraj College, University of Delhi (Graduated 2017)

Technically speaking, you need at least 87 percentile to make it into IBS Hyderabad. Although I have seen someone get in even with a 76 percentile, you should know that the chances are extremely low. This is because the students who get selected initially sometimes leave after getting offers from other B Schools like Great Lakes, NMIMS or FORE that are more convenient for them. This in turn empties several seats and candidates with a lower percentile who set ISB Hyderabad as the first preference get a chance to get admission. Even if you are unable to make it into Hyderabad, try for the Mumbai campus.
